We now know the details of Presswerk, the new plug-in U-he has unveiled last week.
Presswerk is a compressor with a vintage GUI and a choice of three “limited” views inspired by well-known compressors (Optical leveler, FET and tube-limiter), all include only parameters for the most common use, so that the user can quickly feel at ease with the controls. Another full vieux includes more settings, for instance you can place the compression pre- or post-saturation stage, control momentary compression, “warmth” or enable an Analog mode to recreate the phase response and transient behavior of classic gear.
Presswerk is still in beta phase so there are known issues and more features to develop. U-he should post today a link so that you can purchase this new plug-in now, with an introductory price of $89 instead of $129.
You can download the public beta version of Presswerk (VST, AU and AAX) for free here for Mac OS X and there for Windows. Username is Beta Tester and the serial is 3GC8O-SLHM1-MYP6–0420–2NXM.
