OVERALL OPINION
got it long ago, it was my first ADAT interface. That one I had before Behringer ULTRAGAIN PRO-8 DIGITAL ADA8000. Both had purchased for my previous summers Fostex VF-16 was a rare multitrack digital interface having ADAT. If I went to the Behringer, it was only because the Fostex had no microphone or preamp gain control input. Too bad because it is to my knowledge the only interface ADAT (excluding USB sound card or firewire so) to be at half-rack width. And the sound quality was more than correct: clean and accurate sound.
When in ADAT interface mode, there is the possibility of "duplicate" the input signals: the first 2 replicated 3 times on the other 6 channels, the first 4 duplicate entries 1 time on Channels 5 8 or without duplication: the 8 inputs are used simultaneously.
If I remember correctly, the only digital audio has to be supported on this model is 16-bit 44.1 kHz while the ADAT format can also support the 16-bit 48 KHz, 24 bit 48 KHz and 24 bit 96 KHz (the latter only 4 channels): damage but ...
