The UpCon combines upconversion and downmix in a 1U rack format. The unit continuously monitors the channel format of the incoming audio and if the signal falls back from true 5.1 to stereo, it crossfades into a 5.1 surround conversion without artefacts.
UpCon uses an UnWrap HD algorithm and it is based on the DB6 platform with the same control and expansion possibilities. GPI control is also supported or you can set it up to react to incoming metadata.
UpCon ships with one 3G SDI stream card and you can add up to two additional UpCon 3G cards for a maximum of 3 simultaneous SDI streams.
The unit features two low-noise fans and dual power inlets for power redundancy to avoid signal loss. Communication is made via two Ethernet ports.
