Behringer Powerplay 16 P16-M

The P 16-M is a personal mixer made by Behringer, it is very affordable and well made. This mixer cannot be racked but it does not take up much space on your workspace because it is pretty small. It has a 3 band EQ on each of the 16 channels and they have a mid band sweep. This monitor mixing system is high quality and perfect for live use which is the reason why I purchased it. It is beyond affordable and comes with LIT buttons and knobs to let you distinguish what is what in a dark room which really came in handy for me since I mostly work out of clubs.

UTILIZATION

The P16-M is powered by a standard wall jack, and you can even mount this to a microphone stand as long as you purchase the P16 MB which is a microphone stand adapter for the P16-M. The manual is clear and sufficient if you need it but you probably won’t need it. All of the basic functions of using this personal mixer are easy to use and understand.

SOUNDS

The EQ on this mixer is great, you will have full control just from the 3 band sweep able EQ. This mixer will fit any style of music that you choose to use it with. There are not any effects or filters, it is only used to connect all your sound sources and distribute your sound to where you want it to go.

OVERALL OPINION

This inexpensive mixer is worth the buy, especially if you are a live performer and have many speakers and need a system that can control them all. With the LED lights you will be able to see what you are doing in a poorly lit room. This device is very portable and goes everywhere with me. I use it about 3 times a week and it has never let me down. I plan on using it for a long time and have no reason to upgrade it because it has all of the functions that I need for my current set up.

UTILIZATION

Plug and play!
This implies we must P16i, ADAT converter - RJ45. PoE, adjustable gain for each channel (-10, 0, +4, +22 dB), 6x RJ45 outputs for up to 6x PM M-16 Personal Mixer.
After the linker can p16m via RJ45-thru, but it needs 6v power supply (supplied) by p16-m further.

SOUNDS

Up to 48kHz ADAT, we go beyond analog.
Integrated (eq limit) effects do their job, it's not Pulteq we do agree ...
The dynamics are respected, the sound is not distorted.
A slight hiss is noticeable, but it is light and fast cover.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than 6 months in professional studio, then it's mostly musicians who use it, I have one in authority to control what they receive. They are very satisfied. For me it's simple: I send to 0db or bus, they mix them!
It is intuitive and relatively simple.
In utlisation:
Limited to 48kHz digital, if the sampling is higher, you can enter in analog, it is seen.
Overall view, there is no indication that a track is muted. A small LED would be welcome.
Per track, mute is indicated by the absence of red LED around the volume knob (there it is)
0 latency is nickel
For the rest it is a very good value for money.
The surface is robust, the knob, it will be seen in 5 years ... but for now, RAS
I am very satisfied.

UTILIZATION

The general configuration is simple? :
me in my case it took only 20 minutes for my use the beast, I still have a lot of jurisdiction over table mix digital and analog, I will briefly explain the connections because I did not find this subject on the net.

The manual is zero and c is to say, it is clear what has just what the buttons (eg for the link button it says: Each key LINK combines mono channels adjacent stereo pair. It is therefore c NUUUUL .
I always known jai records with detailed descriptions and step by step procedure.

Common functions are they easily accessible?
is the top and it's very simple, the bass is not strong enough we support the corresponding voice volume is mounted, the singer is too strong down there, actually I did my personal mix quickly and easily.

SOUNDS

The A / D converters and D / A are transparent?
no problem, no latency.

Effects and filters are effective?
the equalizer is almost zero or nonexistent. but the beautiful sounds and therefore not really need to edit it.
against by the LIMITER works very well.
