I have NO CONS !! I just wish i had used this more often b-4 I became ill in 2016. It works great still ! I can't sing like i used to yet, I can still PLAY, RECORD original multitrack arrangements. Who could ask for anything more ? Well, maybe a budget external monitor out. Then again, I'll leave u with this: It's Nov 1 2020: I STILL LOVE MY DREAM MACHINE RECORDING STUDIO !

PS: Would I ever sell my TASCAM 2488 NEO ?? I'd have to be dead & buried ! Only then, I'd have my wife donate this to the local HUMANE SOCIETY TO RAISE $$ for pet adoption !!

Eight track can be recorded simultaneously.
4 XLR inputs (phantom power supply) and 4 line.
12 tracks mono + stereo track 6 or 18 in total, but do not forget the reports of tracks.
Hard drive, USB port for Backup for example. Output: taken midi in out, in out digital, monitor output line lr / lr rca, effect send 2x line.
Attention to listening the sound is very good 24 cock, very good return of A / D converters. but when you do a master track to export it goes to 12 Provide audio CD or an external interface to burn more optimization.

If the manual is clear? uh .. Well I bought the DVD it's easier.

OVERALL OPINION

Interest for the record, he filled his role very well. I had a little trouble at first, but once one has tamed it did not pass. I do not intend to replace at the moment. The equalizers are great! reverb, delay, chorus etc. .. this is not a multi effects for guitar or bass as I recall! In short if you are good team for the guitar or bass, no problem, nickel. And with the battery equalizers (reverb) you can do a good job!
I do not remember very well the price but for the price of a boss 16 track, there's no picture I prefer the Tascam value for money for having had (the boss). in 700 it seems ..

ps: this is not my forte this exercise is to give advice, so if this info can guide you a little better, so much the better!

I bought this unit through American musical supply new for $1199.I am upgrading from the 788 8 track digital portastudio.I am in the process of putting together a really cool home studio once again.I did used to have a full analog demo type home studio with the TSR8,mixer board, and outpuT effects units.

Likes??--Too many to list--24 tracks.The pre-amps sound GREAT.The ease of use---I have already recorded,mixed,premastered and mastered a tune and burnt it onto CD all w'out looking at the manual.Of course having had the 788 helped-but this is 3 times easier than the 788.The save scene options and effects are very user friendly compared to the 788.

So far I haven't come across any dislikes about this machine however I record in a pretty simple fashion.Mostly acoustic guitars,Bass, drums and leads.

This is what ODDLY enough made me make my final decision to buy this unit--I had always thought,after looking at pictures of it that it was toyishly built.WRONG!I went to a music store close by and played around with it.I could not believe how sturdy and truly easy it was to use.To make a short story long--I fell in love with it!!

I have been playing 30 years.I have played professionally overseas in pop rock bands and played all over the NE in the US in acoustic duos.I have had three home recording studios.Two tape analog and a long list of trys and experiments with digital products until I came across the 788.That was where I landed--and here I am now-A happy man with the 2488--a damm good bargain!!

Trs good pr-amp my opinion. Digital in, trs useful too.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use interface for someone who has some exprience with this kind
console. Trs functions are fast, no loading except to convert to WAV. This is normal all of the same.

SOUNDS

For compressors bands, they could have forced a little more, to something
comparable to the WAVES L1-Ultramaximizer that I can not do without.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had two weeks. I am impressed by the TRS operation of this machine. Dtest I work on computers, but on this console, I love. It
are a lot of useful functions.

To me, it lacks a function to change the gain of an indoor track and a compressor that "boost" over the sound.

Description: This is the successor of 2488neo 2488MkII,
The registrar, duly conjuction 2488 allows the signals arriving over 8 XLR and TRS. Each piece can contain up to 250 virtual tracks, 24 of which can be chosen for the final mix. A prmixeur allows dajouter 8 signals dentre supplmentaires mixing, or 32 signals in total. A stereo track extra fee is been planned to record the mix (pre-master)

Availing oneself of the 2488neo 4 XLR inputs with switchable power ghost (which can therefore accommodate electrostatic pickups), plus 4 between symmetrical jack moon which can be switched in High Impedance dentre for electric guitars live. Between each track and each offers a 3-band equalizer and 3 auxiliary dparts allowing dajouter effects and dynamic variations.

The functions of ddition 2488neo DDIT allow audio tracks with great precision. You can copy / paste or cut and displaces the musical sections, duplicate trails, and historic point the override / rtable can be traced back 999 steps. The tracks allow you to choose alternatives, APRS shot the best shot among the many versions of knowledge accumulated during the denregistrement.
