Keyboard 88 keys heavy (mechanical hammers), 64 basic sounds (+ 200 others with VGM card). In terms of connectivity it has an output L / R in 6.35mm jack, a headphone output, 6 connectors pedal (it is served !!: D) [2 pedal "to cut" (sustain ..), 4 to "continuous" control (volume pedal ...)], then the inevitable MIDI in / out / thru

USE

Use Level I say hat !!
Really convenient to use, all functions are well distributed Categories A button was by category, there's almost no key combinations to support the same time (I hate that).
I do not so read the instructions but that of the PC88 is poorly done and is very useful when trying to use more advanced features such as the arpeggiator, which is quite advanced ... is to say, I could even use it as a metronome ... ^^

In terms of touch, it changes me a lot of my synths soft keys! I do not often dabbled in real acoustic piano, but touch seems quite similar. on the other hand attention is not "graduated" treble keys are as heavy as serious, unlike a real piano!
some squeaky buttons to see perhaps a little oil up?
bcp attention of people have problems that break keys, weight coming off ... I still have nothing that but it looks to be a relatively fragile keyboard anyway. (I speak at the keys! The hull of the keyboard is about 2mm thick metal, is indestructible!)
If not to return to the functionality of PC88, keypad is splittable into 4 zones, and each zone can overlap another, use each sound different - from PC88 or a connected MIDI-expander. in short it is very flexible one can easily make all combinations of split / layering possible!
In addition there sliders 4 and 3 programmable buttons, it makes a good master keyboard! =)

SOUNDS

And the most important: the piano! Excellent I find even today. Once set it right (I add a little velocity setting for more dynamic) is pure bliss !! In addition it can be used across the entire keyboard, Extreme bass / treble.
after some nice sounds too, "Fluid Guitar" is superb, strings, very typical but can ring if it is used properly, the correct electric pianos ...

after that there's no good, organs are quite catastrophic for my taste (I exaggerate, but it's a bit of hop genre I send a sine wave basta worse), the harpsichord too aggressive ...
but this is still acceptable, in fact the big rub comes mainly from the VGM card, which brings lots of new sounds, but so few are quality compared to the original 64! We can still draw cool stuff if we superimpose several sounds, but in this case polyphony (32 notes) is quickly reached

NOTICE GLOBAL

I bought € 150 used and it's been two weeks since I use it. at that price it's a case of gold, but the average price at which it sells (~ € 500), it is better still to think and possibly test the keyboard on the spot, to avoid unpleasant surprises (mine Post survived, but I do not advise anyone to do the same, especially for a contraption 25kg ^^).
of course if it all over again I would take the same (provided that the price does not exceed € 300 secondhand)

UTILIZATION

Touch, I always found amazing at the time (1995) he plunged all the competition by far. But it is true that the latest models I've seen in stores (eg Casio) are amazing ... Finally I thought about changing it, but in fact I am so used to his touch that I keep it with him that I feel better, it will not control ...
Configuration rather simple but navigating through the sounds, not very intuitive ...
Channel selection and convenient settings: 4 sounds can be played simultaneously with a fader for each.
The MIDI is very powerful and very easy to control a multitrack sound card, allowing the quick access to the latest piano sounds via Cubase, which are fabulous for some ...

SOUNDS

No techno and electro sounds here, but the classic sounds (piano, strings, guitar, bass, organ ...) Squid are still a bit old saw that found via a computer, but it is very adequate for the piano bar, pop or rock for example.
The expression is very good, no sense of "levels" as on some crappy MIDI Keyboard ...

OVERALL OPINION

Used for 11 years in the piano bar, with sequencer hand, it is now home to a project post-folk intimate.
The hit was his ultra strong point, now it's a sentimental story for me, after the choice of sounds is limited.
Matos extremely tough anyway.
Now I would do not have that choice at the time it was good.

This is the first and only piano I bought. So my first experience, bought the closed eyes.

UTILIZATION

The hit is not bad but still a bit special! It will not please everybody.

major drawbacks: it is very heavy!
Other black dot: the mechanics is fragile! 4 weight of the hammer broken system in 8 years. I tried to repair once it's galley! and the piano parts that are no longer made! I removed myself and I moved the broken pieces on the ends, and the buttons work but the key changes and it make a sound drunk!
Another annoyance: the internal battery is not eternal, it must be changed after a while! So if you bought a used one, maybe asked to be changed, especially if no longer young! is a stack of flat 3Volt I believe, nothing extraordinary, but the piano is quite annoying to remove.
SOUNDS: The sounds of piano: good attack, but really a reasonable synthetic electric pianos: one must love! Custom sounds more like vintage as the suitcase but again the texture of the sound is weak: it's not bad in the bass but the highs do not exist! organs are nice but always the same, lack of depth. The vibraphone is not bad. other sounds are also valid without going to very good.

SOUNDS

So I use this piano for 8 years or so, it will more and more I abhor mainly because of the sounds! Maybe I become too difficult. Anyway now I use it only as a master keyboard to control a Nord Electro Rack 2, and I saw, even the behavior of reactive keyboard / sound is much better MIDI!
to conclude this is a great master keyboard but quite heavy (25Kg flycase free!) and fragile in terms of mechanics, and the internal sounds are mediocre, but largely meet people not too difficult.
Today I would say that this piano is a good value if not n'éccède € 300, because it is an old piano that he has not quite lived well.
