OVERALL OPINION

The RD 300 NX is certainly in quality piano sounds a little below the stage pianos premium (in the case NORD) but offers a range of sounds worthy of ROLAND range or Kurzweil which unfortunately has more than the name for it and I chose this instrument because with the "USER" are the perfect solution for live performers you control everything with one click, the effects in particular the chorus is assignable to perfection .. a little flat on the resolution at which split as often reduced "or dynamic sound quality" but manageable. Looking machine to make it to the stage where we need to go, great price and manufactures rugged ROLAND ..

UTILIZATION

The touch is very nice, not very heavy but balanced (the model above, the RD700NX offers a better keyboard, but also more expensive and around 25 kg).
The manual is very clear (that said the device functions are relatively simple).
The selection of sounds is simple, but it takes time to "reprogram" most other sounds that the piano live sets, consisting of a maximum of three tones (bunk splités) is prepared.
It is not really programming, but preparation and configuration.
It has a 3-band EQ on the front, very convenient!

SOUNDS

Sounds:

- Acoustic pianos very well (and the possibilities are many.) It has quick access to the new sounds of piano, but you can also get other sounds in the machine.

- Electric piano very well, but we feel the lack of effects sometimes.

- Organ: the keyboard is a bit heavy, but it is an interesting choice. Unfortunately, the effects are limited, you can put a reverb, chorus (+ compressor needed) and another effect (and only on the first tone). Thus, it was a whole bunch of distorted organ and saturated but leslie. So it's distortion or leslie damage.

- Strings: very rich texture. Progress in this area. Good pads if you like it.

- Brass / wood blah ... go, oboe well, and the saxes and tuba.

- Mallets / Clav. : Good vibrations, good harpsichord (but dynamic)

- Guitars / bass: some nice electric guitars, acoustic guitars are rotten, especially because after the attack transients of sound, a sound is heard smooth, flat, hollow (a very short loop). To be honest, they were better on my JV90 1994.
The bass is honorable.

- Chorus: Hmm, little interest. Always the preset scat which is useless.

- Finally, many synth sounds that do not add much either.

You can adjust the reaction velocity for each program (fortunately, because there are aberrations as harpsichord and Hammond organ dynamic touches!

OVERALL OPINION

This is clearly a digital piano, the other sounds are there to help. I wanted a lighter digital piano (under 20 kg), but with a touch heavy enough, some additional sounds (including harpsichord, very successful here). I hesitated between the FP50, but I did not like the feel too rubbery, the Yamaha CP50, very good touch, but ergonomics rotten and too heavy, I even tested a used piano north but I don ' I was not thrilled with the feel of the keyboard (light and noise, pt be because he had served) on the other hand sounds are at the top.
I especially like the touch and sounds of piano, electric piano, and the opportunity to build his sets of programs. Although many sounds are not up to those of piano, it can be good to have access to a very wide range (accordions are great as well as saturated in the hair stand on the head of John organs Lord).

Roland does it again with the RD-300GX, this board has amazing sounds. All of the Roland boards have a very warm sound, plus this keyboard is very affordable. The after touch is great and the keys feel like a real grand piano. I have used this keyboard a few times on and off and everytime I mess with this board I am surprised by just the overall feel of it

UTILIZATION

Like I said before and I will always say this about Rolands boards. All of the sounds have great warmth too them, other boards have sounds that sound light and thin. All of Rolands boards bring a very well rounded full warm sound to the table. Roland prides themselves on creating keyboards that have the best and highest quality sounds.

SOUNDS

I would compare the sounds to this board with the sounds of the higher Roland workstation boards, except this boards electric pianos are probably the best out of all of the Roland series of boards and workstations.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall with the price of this board its definitely worth the purchase, just go to your local keyboard store and sit down with the Roland RD-300 GX and you will see what im talking about and what all of the buzz is about. You will sit down at this board (whether you are a seasoned keyboard player or a beginner) and you will feel like you are playing a grand piano. The weight on the white and black keys is about the same which is hard to find on electric keyboards. This board will have you feeling very creative and ready to lay down some great chord progressions that will leave your audience with their mouth open. Finding an electric keyboard that can do this is rare, that’s why you must give this one a try.

UTILIZATION

The touch is perfect, it has a very good rebound, due to the dual exhaust. Texture "Ivory Feel" keys is very nice, it does not slip when you sweat fingers (great for the scene) and the color of the white keys is white, it reminds many ivory. My big surprise was at the weight of the keys: no difference between white and black, and therefore even velocity response. The graded hammer is also very well rendered.
There are many ways to quickly change its (3 layers layers, presets users (despite the fact that there is only 60), we just assign a sound to each button category at the touch long, c ' is very convenient).
The manual is delivered in French with, but it is not useful, the instrument is very intuitive.

Small flat for the equalizer: it has a somewhat slow response of the 3 knobs.
Playback mp3 files might also have been retained.

SOUNDS

The sounds are amazing quality! The acoustic pianos are extremely well sampled, we hear no difference following sampling scores of serious acute as sometimes happened on older models.
The electric pianos are very well made, it still has that warmth in the sound as it was with a real or a real rhodes wurlitzer.
The other sounds are also very good, there are no sounds that are useless, everything is usable.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 days and I can not get enough
I tried the RD-300GX, which was not bad, even good, but the NX is much better, the price difference really worth it, both to the touch (too soft on the GX) and for sounds of pianos (SuperNATURAL the NX).
The quality / price is not bad but for an instrument like this, it is with your ears and fingers should be judged first, not your wallet!
I do not have enough experience to know if I will or not this choice, but for now it fits perfectly to my expectations!
I recommend it, it's a great stage piano.
