    Feels real

    Roland V-PianoPublished on 10/01/12 at 22:07

With the analog and digital outs you can plug it into an amp or any system that you want the sounds to come out of. It comes with a stand and with the 3 pedal set. The Roland V Piano is a lot bigger than I imagined it would be and it is also heavier than I thought it would be. There really is not lugging this in and out of the car to get to gigs. Unless you have a road crew you just won’t be taking this with you. On the Roland V Piano there isn’t any switching for velocity, but everything seems to have an amazing tone and texture to the sound.

    UTILIZATION

Set up is no sweat at all, plug it in and start playing. Selecting your patches is pretty simple because of the main face of the board has everything right in front of you and labeled for easy access. I have not seen the manual for it, but I didn’t need it so I am sure most people wont need it.

    SOUNDS

All sounds are amazing, the acoustic piano’s are some of the best out, I wish I had more time to work with the V Piano and could have it at home but coming in at almost 7 Grand I just can not afford to have that in my house.

    OVERALL OPINION

The touch and response on the V Piano is amazing, with the ivory feel of the keys you will have to remind your self that you are at a digital piano and not a grand. We have used the Roland V Piano to record audio (stereo) into Pro Tools, there was no effort involved with that process because it was just audio out, going into the audio interface. Simple to use, and a great feeling digital piano!

    Hello,

Having rcemment the acquisition of V-Piano Roland, I have enough to share the exprience particulire REPRESENTATIVES CHAC's instrument. The opinions and srieux official tests are still rare as this product is new and innovative ct alli has a price a bit steep especially the GNR "flamewar" Internet users, most of which did not even approach.

Technical Specifications and to give you a Retailer ide more opportunities, I can only advise you to consult the user manual (in English): http://www.roland. com / products / en / _support / om.cfm? PRODUCT = V-PIANO: Owner's manual

Here's my opinion user mlomane, honest, sincre ;-) trying to avoid repetition and official commercial that you will find all the brochures from Roland. For information, I am a classical pianist by training, and I do not work at Roland ... before the fuse only comments ;-)
    - Keyboard: 88 keys hammer mcanique (standard keyboard of a piano, PHA III technology, only Roland keyboard now quip)
    - Only one sound: piano, deep ditable
    - Only one effect: the rverbration with choosing the type and level
    - One Weight: 40kg ~! <img class="smiley" src="https://fr.audiofanzine.com/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt="" />

    - I / O:
At the front: cl USB (storage / reading configuration files, MIDI files, audio files WAV/MP3), headphone jack
At the rear: output to amp scne, Jack audio output L / R & B voice (sparation basic sound and effects), USB to PC, USB for software update firmware, MIDI IN / out, audio jack L / R, among pdalier provided + 2 effects pedals / expression.

NB: no squenceur. The V-Piano does not replace a mixer or software computer music adquate for those who do homestudio.

    UTILIZATION

First, the keyboard. A good 88-key hammer mcanique. This is not an upright piano or a tail, sr. Besides having seen the section mcanique Phai (PHA III comes with a lot in terms of design), one realizes that mimics everything to maximum, but not replicate the srement identically throughout the complex mcanisme original ( <a title="Schematic" href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fichier:Pianino_-_mechanizm_angielski.svg">https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fichier:Pianino_-_mechanizm_angielski.svg</a> piano right or https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fichier: Fortepian_ _mechanizm_angielski.svg piano-tail).

However, I test all keyboards "transportable" from the showroom (Yamaha, Kawai, through to the PHA-II Roland), does not that level. It takes a little getting used to, and the first attempt to put an end to a ballad of Chopin might be dcevante ... However, an APRS early adaptation, VLOC returns, and we are impressed by the smoothness of the return offered by this keyboard. Today, I can play almost anything I play on an acoustic ... I just fear the return of my old Blthner Modl B NRTEE proudly some 300 km o I live ;-)

Note that it comes with a pdalier three pedals, the pedals link (right) pedals or "strong" and two different functions assignable pedals. Soft pedals (left) and Sustenuto (middle) by default.

The front panel is "light", just dot ncessaires keys to select the sounds (presets or custom) and configurations (setup) and the menus accder V-Piano, and that qualizeur the graph. Most buttons are customizable. Orders aisment accessible even during the game (the rear power button), Manual in French trs trs complete and well done. PC Software also accompanied by his online help (in English).

    SOUNDS

Probably the most impressive. Some find it a little something too "digital" too "mtallique" or too "perfect" ... but we must admit that I had never heard of a keyboard numrique. Again, a is not as natural as the sound of a good real s&#39;chappe box of wooden basis with all that makes the rich sound of an acoustic instrument (piano or other) - the number of paramtres Muls galer can not fit all that into account in the production of an original sound. But we are sacrment close!

Test with a Sennheiser HD 212 Pro, I t IMMEDIATE immersed with the feeling that cost a CD recording - well, I play less ... ;-) The presets that come with the V-Piano is troubling ism. The reason for these strings, the sound of the hammer hitting the string, the sound produced by the use of the pedals ... and above all, the dynamism of its extremely Fidler nuances of touch, make the exprience trs stimulating.
There is no comparison with a system that sample - I say for having compared the Difference (in headphone, of course) is obvious, that you play ds some classic romantic ;-) Beethovenian hard to return a library of sound sample APRS have got the V-Piano. The only play in the same court - a priori - is the software Pianoteq as low on the same principle modlisation end to end, with all that implies prrequis hardware ( and the purchase of a keyboard matre worthy of the name) ... APRS is a question of use. I prfr the intgration a while.

Look no sounds other than piano. That&#39;s all the v-known piano (well) done. It certainly intgre a basic library can not be changed to play MIDI files on USB key stocks. But let&#39;s be honest, the worst wave table is better than a. .. In short this is not the purpose of this instrument, and MIDI playback is a gadget. At most offered a possibility to learn how to place his notes on MIDI scores rcupres on the Internet.

For cons, the possibility to mix the sound of the V-Piano with Audio WAV or MP3 files is a plus ... trs apprciable and I use to improvise over this feature on (or learn) the songs, the MIDI.

Edit / Customization: many variables involved in a modlisation acoustic piano are paramtrables: Sensitivity of touch, the level of attnuation PDAL "soft" rsonnance (inter-string with pedals "strong", rsonnance Fund, etc.), noise from the pedals "strong" by GNR and noise free strings in its support, tuning ( kind of global agreement on the piano, and tuning / dsaccordage note by note), hardness of the hammer, etc ... Besides all these parameters are ditables overall the unit (per note) or range of keys. We can even "draw" the levels of paramtres mouse via the supplied software for PC / MAC.

The shades can be subtle or audible trs The argument following modified but some hide the effects of other when activated. The edition is well trs micro firmware through the v-piano, but is certainly more enjoyable with PC / Mac included to edit visually and intuitively these variables with application to (almost) real time. Personally, I use the menus prfre V-Piano ... but not very often I change the sounds for now.

Effects: one surround effect available: the rverbration. Of good quality but limited in terms of trs paramtres and configurations available (Room / Club / Hall + level). This is not what is done best if you want to record or mix studio. Prferez your racks (for those lucky enough to have them) or good VST plugins spcialiss. However, to play only the sound of the v-piano, alone, under headphones or speakers, the effects provided is enough.
Sound: Anyway, to enjoy the sound out of headphones, good sound prevail as the V-Piano is dpourvu any intgre pregnant. What is prconis are two good active speakers (types Prodipe Pro5 / 8), even if Roland prfererait that you take a keyboard amp scne over 1000 ;-) Do not omit a subwoofer. Otherwise you will not feel the vibrations of serious bass keys on the keyboard ... and look the other way is important.

Another interesting point is the use of A & B outputs for rpart "spatially" simulating finely the sound and its origin as if played on a piano line. It is the purpose of rglage "Great Atmosphere".

I have not yet invested in a good sound system and I currently use my multimedia speakers (and I do not lose an eye as for the purchase of the instrument). Tests show rooms quips be needed before any purchase, because I think it got a little and the ear of each.

    OVERALL OPINION

In conclusion, I would say that for a Premire of its kind, the V-Piano is a beautiful Russianness of the same! Prsager leaving a challenging future as these technologies modlisation sound.

    - Assets: Finesse, dynamic and rich sound, incredible touch on the keyboard to accept a large numrique vlocits and subtle game, solid overall, finishing & matrial used s, paramtres ditables

    - Cons: The ct "restricted" one instrument. The weight making bte difficult to transport alone. It is also damage which this award, the Roland booth ddi for a stable instrument is extra, and expensive! I think opt for a stand of good quality, but the piano moves from front to rear lgrement when I lche. The MIDI implmentation, prs limited somewhat by sending the transmission of the notes and volume ... (See Table address MIDI user manuals that I have indicated in the beginners section).

On investment, there is a priori no fear in the near future (for those who purchased or from the purchase) or esprer (other) radical change in the tariff policy Roland. They are even increasing the prices of some synthtiseurs prissdj on the market. And the V-Piano is one in absolute luxury.

There are also strong bet that the next rev rponse Yamaha in this segment will not break prices. R & D for this type of product is rate candy ... and given the number of spices that go s&#39;couler (srement not as much as the iPhone), you must return on investment.

Voil j&#39;espre you have read this will appreciate the view, rest and be as impartial as possible and honnte ... based on my own felt empty. Comments (constructive) welcome ...
