Yamaha has announced the new Motif-Rack XS Tone Generator.
Yamahas says: Utilizing the very same sounds as the Motif XS, the Motif-Rack XS includes 1,152 dynamic and authentic Voices, 65 drums kits, and a comprehensive synthesis engine for building custom Voices. These Voices are the basis for further sound creation and customization using the built-in studio quality effects, thousands of arpeggio types of which 4 can be played back simultaneously, and 5 front-panel control knobs capable of adjusting 20 different parameters in real-time.
In the studio, the Motif-Rack XS is easily integrated into a computer music system with a simple USB connection. The Motif-Rack XS Editor provides easy access to deep editing functions on the computer screen that are not available on the front panel. This editor can be used stand-alone or integrated with the included Cubase AI DAW software. Cubase AI (Advanced Integration) provides Steinberg music production capabilities and direct integration with many Yamaha hardware products. It provides 48 tracks of audio, 64 tracks of MIDI, VST instruments and effects, and a powerful Cubase 4 audio engine for complete music production.
For additional inputs and outputs, Yamaha’s optional mLAN16E2 interface card connects the Motif-Rack XS to the computer and communicates audio and MIDI data through a single Firewire cable.
