I do not dwell on the more specific features that you will find easily.
UTILIZATION
The Sledge is easy to use as each knob has its function (as an analog of the 80's), I did not have to consult the manual.
To set a sound you go to a factory preset (100 and disappointing) or you're starting from scratch (osc / vcf / vca / lfo 's / effects).
The Sledge makes you want programer, the front panel is off, the knobs are large and clear screen.
SOUNDS
Tangerine Dream fan of early 80 (ppg wave2.2/jupiter 8/prophet5 ...)
The Sledge is exclusively oriented electro, no samples or pcm in the machine.
I have a couple of all kinds of machines (ancient and modern analog, analog modeling synths, digital) Well I put it aside, it sounds Oberheim, prophet, ppg (wavetable requires), moog, roland a grained metal.
This is a synth on which we must spend time to get good sounds (presets are void and may discourage the user).
Effects are not good (metal)
It is good on tablecloths and brass analog envelopes are fast and allow low are very percutants.Trois oscillators can concoct sounds real powerful but it will spend time to obtain a satisfactory result.
Synths owned: matrix6 / esq1/polyevolver/waldorf xtk/jp8000/quasimidi sirius/k2000/t3/emax2 kb / micro ion / microkorg/ea1 ...
OVERALL OPINION
I purchased new in March 2013.Son panel contôle minimoog style attracted me, It is a synthetic supplement, with a particular grain (waldorf).
Nothing bothers me about this synth, I think it will disappoint in the first place (there are few reviews on this machine, or mine!).
If you want a single synth is not for you!
The price of 1000 euros now seems to me High, I got to 749 euros in nine world sounds, but I'm sure between good hands it can do miracles.
