« Incredible instability. To avoid »
Published on 05/23/11 at 09:28* What characteristics have motivated you to choose?
- The price and the use of timecode.
* For what purpose?
- Working with Timecode
* What is your config (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Disk ,...)?
- Mu.P: Intel Core i3. 3GB RAM, 160GB disk, Win7 (Toshiba Satellite)
* Which instruments or systems (console, preamp, DTD ...) and you use the connection with what?
- JB Mixer System and RCA connectors, with the U-MIX 44 provided with the software and its vinyl decks.
2x Numark TT 1650
GETTING STARTED
* The installation is done it without problems?
- Typical installation of Windows software, no problems so far, and I mean now.
* Have you experienced any incompatibilities?
- I never got it to run on PCs with AMD ...
* The general configuration is easy?
- Horrible, I put more than a month before you get to do any "work".
* The manual is clear and sufficient?
- Manual? They do not put it back the same! He explains that he just have to click next, next, next, finish. After that, the software is installed, and we cope! You end up with a whole slew of features not even explained in the manual!
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
* What is the configuration of your computer? (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Disk / sound card ..)
- Mu.P: Intel Core i3. 3GB RAM, 160GB disk, Win7 (Toshiba Satellite)
* The software runs he correctly on this configuration?
- No. It crashes after an hour, the songs are still occasionally shift, U-MIX switch themselves off (when it disconnects a USB device in windows) and restart mixvibes's (not very practical in the evening necessarily ...), scratcher is not even worth thinking about, it looks like the read head flies off the deck so it does not move, and therefore we are never the same place 2 times in the song ...
OVERALL OPINION
* For how long have you been using it?
- 1 year. And 1 year too ...
* What thing do you like most/least about it?
- The most: the ability to mix 1h without much problem may be? That's all I found "good "....
* Did you try many other models before getting this one?
No. First time I used a system Timecode (it was nearly the last one ...)
* What is your opinion about the value for the price?
- For this price, do not expect anything serious ...
If it works, then you're lucky, but I had a lot of outside opinions that agree with me.
Mixvibes: That's good to start. Point
* Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice? ...
- Oh no! I am also committed to eventually control the Serato, we'll see what happens!
* Overall Opinion:
- Mixvibes Really disappointed, I expected better.
A manual unnecessary. Their forum, talking about: here vosu're supposed to go if you have any difficulties or other configuration. If only they were at least friendly (something they apparently do not know), they prefer you to understand indirectly that you do not use a PC.
My problems have never, ever were resolved in their forum.
Then, if you have the crazy plan to use in the evening anyway: take you an extra CD, or better, a CD player!
It is through experience that I said that.
Another amusing anecdote: I tested the Timecode and U-MIX44 with the free version of Virtual DJ (in this version, we can test the function timecode 10 minutes). Well I almost bought the pro version of VDJ so it is stable and efficient ...
Also, a detail important enough: Mixvibes do not know the playlist files. M3u external ...
For software that calls itself pro ... It touches the bottom.
You must make your playlist mixvibes IN (already not ergonomic), and you can only use one at a time. I mean, you do not have a list with your playlist that you've carefully created for such and such a kind, for example. You owe it to each import, import ... Very heavy, very long, so useless in the evening ...
