I use it for almost 3 years

I had a Shure SM58-CN before but it's broken.

3D-Axis structure and cover are significant and can not break it. The sound is clean and tightly closed. Cons: after 3 years, the cable is completely entangled, its material and its diameter does not help and the jack is not robust: the problem of connections.

Good value for money. I bought this headphone because it was pliable, the previous one had ended up breaking. I think this problem is the headphone cable and jack connectors. With experience I will take probably the AKG but with a replaceable cable.

The AKG K 81’s are a set of studio headphones for uses of all types (even though they say they are DJ headphones). I'll just say up front that I'm not a huge fan of these headphones, as they feel cheap and don't have a great sound. AKG apparently agreed as they are no longer making these headphones, although you can probably find used ones. The headphones are only suitable for one application, and that's for listening during recording. They don't have a great sound at all, but will be fine for this kind of use as you don't need to get the fullest picture possible when monitoring during recording (although it can help). They do encompass a good amount of bass response, but it's not a tight sound to me at all. You could also get away with using them for general listening purposes, but do you really want to be walking around out there with these on your head? Not only are they huge but they're really cheap feeling. The outside is made out of some kind of plastic and it really adds to the tackiness of them both in handling of them and look. I'm not sure when these headphones were made or for how long, but there's also an AKG K 220 which is essentially the same set of headphones under a different name. I doubt that these are going for too much in the used market, but they weren't as cheap as they should have been while they were still being made. We have a pair of these K 81’s around the studio that kind of float from room to room as needed, but for me they're always the last pair off the shelf and only used on a must needed basis. Obviously, I'd suggest staying away from the AKG K 81’s and looking at something else that's a bit sturdier in make up and has a better sound.

Updated 3 years later I still have that headphone, I'm about to change the headphone, my budget is not the same and my stress either! (+ Large parties / mix in the festival is not the same sound pressure!)

However, I highly recommend it, after three and a half years of intensive use and yet I was not very gentle with him (quite a few times fell to the ground, pulled over / tense use by -16 ° C, dust rave party monster ... what!)
My headset still works like the first day! It is therefore robust to have mini prices.

with esperience I think I would go for a model very close (well not until you exceed its 1kw is perfect!)

Before I owned a Sony worth twice the price, and I think the akg much better.

Value for money at the top, does not saturate as can seinheiser a game in the same price.

I use it for more than four years, and no worries!

I had an HD 212Pro before, but the foam / dropped my sky. (The more I find Hi-Fi)

The sound is clear and very powerful! Saturate my ears before him!
The bass are present, too much for some to see me but I like to mix electro / house.
Insulation is good but not great because the atria are quite small. (Or I have too big ears lol)

For large heads (like me) the setting is a bit tight, it tends to shake quite a bit after a long evening ...

Use a few times in a small pub / club no problem isolation and endurance levels.

What I like is the sound for me very well, fairly well isolated. It is light!

In September 2008 I purchased a K81DJ after reading positive reviews on Audiofanzine. Excellent value for money, good sound reproduction and comfortable on the ears. Even if a little headphone greenhouse ears initially it softens after 2 / 3 weeks.

Always happy with this headphone after 3 years, I renew my purchase late February 2011 to have one at home and at work.

Only big disappointment!!

Firstly, I note a few changes, like the jack that is no longer the same. This new outlet is much finer. Cable quality also seems less (but this is just an impression). Always a good bass response. But this is the case: the treble hiss and sizzle in your ears !!!!! A kind of residue Acute really unpleasant and annoying is present throughout the plays.

My previous headphone 2008 is still perfect after 3 years. But the quality of this second headset I just bought is not at all at the rendezvous.

I do not know what to do with this headphone? Return it to the dealer? (Controlled through RueDuCommerce and delivered by a subcontractor). But will it be replaced? In any case, what is certain is that I will not bear to listen to music with headphones the sound is also poor.

Please note that the quality does seem to be at the rendezvous with the headphones which apparently underwent some changes.
