After 3 years of use, I am very satisfied with the product, worth the price in my opinion. I was using a headset Sennheisen before. On the Pioneer, the sound is slightly less well defined, but is much more powerful. And robustness of the product makes it particularly suited to the mix (either at home or in event) headphone, but less suitable for any other use, particularly because of the bow tight, and a definition of the quality of sound low volume, which while very good, is not the best on the market in my opinion.
In short, ideal for DJ!

I use this headset for mixing at home, and occasionally at events, and the sound quality is very satisfactory, even at high volume.
The arch is intentionally tight enough. It is not made for prolonged use (eg for listening to music on the go), but is ideal for mixing, where her outfit is very good. It has a hinge on one of the two atria, easier to hear in one ear.
Two cables are available; a law about 1m, and a "emerges", upgradeable to about 3m, very convenient to mix keeping some mobility.

The product features the robust deemed Pioneer. Both cables are interchangeable quickly and easily, and it comes with a 3.5mm / 6.35 gold plated screw adapter.
No trace of wear can be reported in 3 years of use.

The frequency response of the headphones is close to being linear, and it can be used for mastering. A high volume, bass are well defined, which is handy in the evening.
Sound insulation is not optimal, due to the size of the pads, which do not completely cover the ears. It is sufficient, however, and the volume is very generous. A related person can hear the music played through headphones if the environment is not too noisy.

I for one month, just in a hurry because I broke another, but it will clear quickly!

I tried and owned many headphones, either low-end or high-end, and issue sound quality, Sennheiser some 20 or 30 €, even without being clear, are more pleasant to listen ...

This is unfortunate because otherwise the build and finish are good, it is quite practical in its handling, visually beautiful and relatively comfortable (but this is not a circum aural)

Obviously I do not have that choice (done in an emergency) because of its poor quality, and there are no other words ... I have never been so disappointed by a headphone. ..

The headset is quite comfortable compared to the look it gives.
It has an adjustable headset for convenient mixer, but is still not as practical as HDJ1000, 1500 or 2000 on this point.
Question cable is excellent and well made: a right cable and a spiral cable.

The headphone looks solid, I have not long but bought used.
It has a detachable connection with bayonet, so no risk that the cable is detached.
Today it is like new, short finish worthy of the brand.

This is where it's gate ... It's just an eyesore on almost all frequencies ...
Treble do not rise enough, shine from time to time and may even saturate short time ... it's not terrible ...
Mediums are not clear, even a little yucky I think, and not leave enough (that said, as being better for the quality ...).
Serious is the icing on the cake: It drops low enough but it's very round, it resonates, ca crushes mediums so it appears ... In short it's not worth much ...
And spatialization: no record! It was almost like listening to mono!

Geeks understand: when I listen to a finished piece and another that is not mastered ... I almost do not see the difference! I rediscovered music as if I was listening to an old transistor (biensur I exaggerate, but it is the image to remember ...).

I listened to music on dozens of different headphones and prices, and this is the first time I find it unpleasant ... So it serves to mix the time to get a real headphone ...

The insulation is not too bad considering the price.

I finally opted for this model, I'll buy one every two years.

I mix with this headset for almost two years, I'm really happy, I feel good with. it is comfortable to wear, listen to and even watch (it sounds stupid but okay).
I mix all styles of music with.

a very good sense of sound isolation, almost perfect, the headband is a little stiff at first uses but it fits easily.

the twisted cable has a good length and allows mobility bone around the table without having to unplug it, it is not interchangeable with a twisted a little shorter for listening on mobile devices cable.

I prefer the beats

The sound of HDJ 500 K are very good for this price. The highs and mids are clean and crisp and the low end has a nice thump to it making it easy to DJ with because I can match up tempos and beats easily. The only thing about these headphones that I feel could cause an issue is the build of them not being as durable as I like my headphones to be but at this price I didn’t expect to get something that would be able to withstand the tough life on the road. I have been using these headphones for a while now and I am even thinking of getting a second pair just to leave at home.

The Pioneer HDJ-500 are a set of DJ headphones that cost 99 dollars. The padding on these headphones are covered in leather and they are very comfortable. These are the most comfortable headphones that I have ever used under the 150 dollar mark. The style of them is ok, nothing to special. The sound quality is very good, highs are clean, mids are present, and the lows are thick and full without being too over powering. All of the sounds of the beats are easy to hear in the HDJ 500. When I first used the HDJ 500 headphones by Pioneer I was not happy with them, I felt like Pioneer should have made them better because I had another pair of Pioneer headphones that I was using at the time and they where a lot better but they also cost a lot more. But after a while of using the HDJ 500 I came to the fact that you are only going to get a certain level of quality using headphones that cost this price. I was just expecting a lot more.

The HDJ 500’s best aspect is that they are very comfortable , you will just want to leave them on your head and not take them off the whole night. They are very flexible and the right phone can bend or tilt 60 degrees so it can be out of the way and you can listen in just on one side.

If you are thinking of getting the Pioneer HDJ 500 for DJ use, I would look at some of the better Pioneer headphones that cost in the 175 dollar range. Yes, it is a little bit more but you will have a better sound and a headphone that will last you a longer time. Also, don’t stretch your budget to get these, there are other headphones from Shure and Red Waves that sound better than these and cost about the same or a little cheaper.

What I like least, his large black dot is the exaggerated bass. Who are really surboostées. And the strength of the headphone.

So here I said after 6 months of intensive use in the evenings to mix, street or in the mastering (not recommended because there are not flat) Despite the great care taken in this one, the headband c is cracked on each side of the headphone in the same manner. Yet I never draws it. So for now it is not very bothersome, but as soon as I remove or hands I hear a small crack that scares me every time. I feel it will break. It's a shame that, on the whole it is a good headset to start in DJing.

In terms of value for money it means. On the one hand we have a detachable cable, good design, good sound overall. But this is a strength level again. Mainly at the bow. So when you have a small budget is a bit disturbing to have to buy a new while still costs € 100


With the experience I would choose a range above level sound quality and durability!

I like the isolation he has shown in all situations as well as comfort and purity of its sound and its spiral cable He's awesome!

However I like a little less heat it provides after 3 pm on the head but then it's not super embarrassing

the price ... well ... it's just ... Pioneer so it may be an excessive price, but what good quality is to you no problem meeting this side of the ^ ^

The most attractive feature is its look and good finish: it's a nice headphone, defect-free cosmetics.
The characteristics are the least satisfactory
- Pads headphones: too rigid to crash like the HDJ-1000, they press too much on the ears without completely isolating from the outside,
- The lack of backbone on the headphones: a true DJ headphones at least two 2-axis, a pivot 180 degrees on two headphones, and a 90 ° rotation of the feet of headphones. None of this with the HDJ-500 has a single pivot 90 °, and a single receiver, so we can not return the receiver, and the pivot 90 degrees only works on one of only two headphones.

The absence of rotations makes headphones HDJ-500 headphones for stereo or portable, but not a DJ headphones (no more than a DJ Monster Beats Studio).
