The New Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S8 is a full-featured MIDI control surface with built-in audio interface and 4-channel mixer. It is optimized for the Native Instruments Traktor software and ships with Traktor Scratch Pro 2.
First novelty on this Traktor Kontrol S8, the jog wheels were replaced with touch strips to control pitch bend, search in the sound library and scratch features. Each deck features large high resolution color displays to visualize the track information, effect and filter values, vectorial representation of the waveform and the Beat Grid. You can also navigate in the sound library and access the Remix Decks in full mode.
Regarding Remix Decks, you’ll find on the Traktor Kontrol S8 4+4 control faders and you can capture and trigger user samples and loops on the fly with the 16 color backlit performance pads, sync and layer them to create advanced edits on the fly. These pads also allow for triggering cue points, with each color corresponding to hotcue types for easier visual feedback.
The Traktor Kontrol S8 also features a Freeze button to capture snapshots of the track during playback. A loop appears on the deck display, you can then slice is with the performance pads:
The 4-channel mixer includes Traktor Mode to switch between Traktor and the standalone mode (to add external effects) on each channel.
The 24-bit / 48kHz audio interface offers 4 analog inputs with phono/mic preamps and Cirrus Logic converters, XLR and RCA master outputs, 1/4” jack Booth outputs and a headphone output.
The Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S8 will be available starting October 30th for the suggested price of 1199€/$. Pre-orders are open at www.native-instruments.com.
