Vestax VCI-400

The Vestax VCI-400 is a great piece of software for every DJ out there.
What I like most about it is the innovative feature to bundled DJ software to any DJ which is extremely helpful in your mixing work. This piece of software is an a completely different league regarding dj controllers.
Some others great feature provided by this product are customizing control assignments, the VCI-400 and its ergonomic 4-channel lay out provides perfect control for mixing, resampling , such as cueing, pitch control, looping, FX control, track browsing/loading, triggering samples and scratching.

Another aspect of this product is the compatibility with many softwares like Traktor Pro 2, MixVibes, TORQ 2 and many others.

The sounds and quality of it is managed by 24-bit / 48 kHz resolution , combines a dual-core digital processor with an analog type of sounds to get the most of it.

It has some highly responsive multi-mode transport section triggers layers of controls instantly which allows creating some nice drum patters with a touch of syncopation , one other quality of this software is the large aluminum Filter knobs which look pretty pro.

My opinion about the value of price is decent, the product without a doubt, isn't a joke , it's made for pro work, the product costs around $899 so keep that in mind, if you're searching for a great pro platform this is best choice regarding quality and price.

Precision and quality of sounds is pretty much perfect, I would rate 9.5/10 , this platform is very handy in mixing.

Knowing what I know, if my budget would allow me to buy this pro software that takes the mixing process to a whole new level, which allows creativity to grow even further, without a doubt I would go for this product and I would make the same choice.

I use the VCI 400 for 7 months.

I once had a Xone DX and I can say that the quality is almost identical. However, I experienced a problem with a fader that does not send the right signal to the software (when I ride or down to money, it does not follow the command, it stops at 3/4 or 1/4 of the race and moves rapidly up and down). This is the problem that makes me reduce the rating from very good to correct. However, it may be an exception, many other users have not encountered this problem.

Otherwise, I like the overall touch controller (the knobs and faders are pleasant to the touch) and the arrangement of the various areas of control is really good. I also like the quality of the sound card, I used it on pretty beefy sound and the sound is nickel. What I like least (really to quibble), is the lack of preamp level phono inputs. When you plug an old technics and it does not sound good, buying a preamp to connect this type of plate is essential.

Besides the problem that I have experienced, it is a good value for money. With experience, I actually do it again the same choice. There are other users who have not experienced this problem fader then yes it is a good controller.

I use it for about 6 months.



I try several brands of all prices. I also currently a SCS.1m Staton and two SCS.1d.

There I was being a big budget because I wanted a portable solution & Quality. I almost turn me into a Rodec Mixer but I missed the decks and I did not want one milion cable and it is less easy to carry the vci-400 and my MacBook Pro.

Particulars "+":

I love Scratch Jog for (I'm really not a Pro) and the quality of it fills well my lack of experience.
Tactile sensitivity to touch the Jog are adjustable
Resistance to rotation is adjustable
I like Cross-Fader short but just long enough and more adjustable.
You can use the 4 deck (jogwheel trackpad and bottom) thanks to a dedicated switch button which reveals another twelve o'clock selection assignment possible. So Bye Bye unfinishable mapping.

this is not really a fault, but I do not like the feel of boutuon for hot cues. But it is good on everyone!
This flat is having to use a wall outlet, but when you see all the positive side of the machine is ready to be done with!



Quality price ratio for the high price I judge justufié because I never had shit with this Dj Controller.
If I would do the same choice?? Yes no hesitation! When you've been trying you want to do without.

Purchased in November 2011, I already had a Typhoon of the same brand. This controller has a nice finish, it is robust and has a very pro compared to Typhoon which is a little toy side. Simultaneous monitoring of four tracks is truly an asset to the production remix, this machine does not suffer from default to the extent we can make a mapping (function assignment for each control) whatever fully customized software mix used.

I put 9/10 because it happened to me a few times accidentally touch the play / pause button during playback (ergonomics a bit perfectible?)

It is a bit expensive but we do not regret the investment from unpacking, so I remake this choice willingly.
