Lach with the mix CD to switch to "digital", I test just about every existing apps. I mix electro (in this context I use Ableton Live) and I was looking for an app that will allow me to animate gnralistes accessories (warp all my zik live in, no thank you!). So I use traktor mixer for all (r'n'b, rap, disco, house, electro, rock).
I have an amd 64x2, 1GB of RAM memory ...
I use the BCD-2000 and a MIDI keyboard as a controller.
Traktor like most of his confrres supports the master tempo, effects, etc ... So nothing transcendent about this ... if not the absence of sampler (sampler I prfr rather than two other decks supplmentaires, which are - let honnte - nothing at all).
GETTING STARTED
Installation is simple, no incompatibility problems of ... no options wacky ... it's ok at this level
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
-> I t surprised by the quality of audio Traktor. Unlike some apps (not to mention virtual DJ), the audio engine of frquences crunches on the sound, here with traktor, the sound comes out crystal, many are not necessarily the difference, but it is pr feel, the sound normment potato with traktor.
-> The effects are dmoniaques. Traktor does not support VST but it does not matter (more than stability. There is a flanger, filter, beatmasher, delay, reverb ... a battery hair you need to customize his mixes, and the audio quality is still at the appointment (NI inside).
-> WARP function. Prs N'tant not stall my sounds by hand (I have not quite prcis controller), I expect the software to do it perfectly and l. .. This is not always perfect, it is often necessary to correct (or x2 / 2) ... It is sometimes also manually adjust the grid ... But with practice it's going to rev faster, and these options are easily accessible. The waveform is clear enough to be able to find the tempo of any song in 30sec with exprience ...
-> The amount of memory load is customizable. For example you choose "20mb", the audio engine load 20mb around the Transport bar, which ensures a minimum memory load while allowing seamless looping and reverse with no latency. I also much apprci the cot "light" of Traktor. No skins superfluous, everything here is gr for the software remains fluid in all circumstances (no pet audio).
OVERALL OPINION
In the end
+ Excellent audio quality (the best I've seen a software mix)
+ Dmoniaques effects (flanger, beatmasher, delay, reverb, filters ... all are usable and of excellent quality.
+ WARP (manually find the tempo of a song) prsence facilitated by a grid, a function that looks for a point prcis BPM of the song ... For the final mix a synchronized simplifibr /> + Trs stable and lightweight trs in resources: the amount of RAM that the software will use is selected! Also ca has no impact on latency!
- No Sampler
- The interface too much clutter and a long passage ncessite force by customization, both at the interface to configure midi ...

In the end I would recommend it to DJ's who mix dj on vinyl or CD and who wish to spend on a support numrique. However, I deprecated the beginners who will find the interface to be too complicated and Drout.
