The one I kept.
Published on 06/26/23 at 23:22I travel as an electrician There's probably 6 or 8 times that I get to a job, check offer up or FB and find a cheap acoustic to play on my days off. I usually end up giving them away right before I leave. I kept this one. 2001 canon.00 - stompboxjon
very cheap
Published on 06/12/12 at 22:31I remember purchasing the PR 200 back in 99 I think could have been 98. I got it used and only had to pay around 100 dollars for it which was a steal at the time. I have even seen people selling these online and at pawn shops and second hand stores for under 75 dollars. So if you don’t want to spend a lot of money and want an acoustic with a good tone and made out of quality wood with a great feel to it this will be the one you will need to get. How many guitars can you get that are that cheap and still in great condition after being passed around from player to player? So if you come across one of these, if its in good condition buy it! How many guitars can you get that are that cheap and still in great condition after being passed around from player to player? So if you come across one of these, if its in good condition buy it! Even if you arent looking to buy a new guitar I would still get it incase someone else in your family may want it. Don’t let it slip through your fingers at that price. It sounds WAY better than a 75 dollar guitar.
UTILIZATION
After messing with the action during set up it felt great. After years have went on I have replaced several parts on it from time to time like the nut and bridge with bone.
SOUNDS
The tone is great for the price, I have a lot more guitars that can get a better tone and that you can get those top frets with better but for some reason sometimes I don’t use them and just use this because I feel like the PR 200 is more of my travel guitar. I am not really worried if it gets broken or stolen and I take it a lot of places with me.
OVERALL OPINION
Overall, like I said if you can find one of these get it. You wont regret buying a 75 to 100 second hand guitar that will sound like it cost a lot more.

USE
- Is the neck comfortable?
Yes, it resembles a Les Paul a lot. Which means you must like LP necks
- Is the access to upper frets easy?
No. It's an acoustic guitar.
- Is the instrument ergonomically designed (body shape, weight...)?
Yes
- Is it easy to get the right sound?...
Not onstage. It doesn't have a good sustain. This guitar wasn't made for onstage.

OVERALL OPINION
How long have you been using the product?
I've been using it for five years. It was my first guitar. I didn't have a lot of money back then.
- Which features do you like the most / the least?
The most: Its price, its bluesy sound
- Did you try any other models before buying the product?
No, I didn't know any other products.
- How would you rate the product's value for money?
Excellent, I don't think there are too many guitars like this at this price.
- Based on your experience, would you choose this product again?
For the same price, yesSee less00 - Scribbler12000Published on 04/23/09 at 12:08Slim neck. Jumbo-style frets, too big, but at the time I didn't know any other models. With smaller frets this guitar would've been amazing!
THE problem of this guitar has always been the neck: It bends a bit at least twice a year, with every season change and, as time goes by, it deforms due to the tightening of the screws inside.
USE
The delicate neck allows small hands to play comfortably, unlike modern guitars conceived for lumberjacks. It's a pity that the very thick frets hurt your fingers more than usual. No cutaway, so it's not easy to reach the upper frets, but if you take up a dreadnought it's not to play the upper frets.

The sound is really nice, superb I'd say, because it has a massive top. I remember that, back then, the shop assistant told me the wood was of good quality, unlike that of its smaller and less expensive sibling.
SOUND
I play mainly folk and other acoustic styles. The guitar does a fine job at it. Not too dry, not too fat, I have never heard such a great sound from any modern guitar at the same price point.
OVERALL OPINION
It's my first folk guitar, the first guitar I had was a classical guitar. I bought it in 1998, I still have the proof of purchase, for sentimental reasons. I love its value fro money because it sounds (sounded) really good. I don't know if I tried out any other models. There weren't many options at this price point, it was a small shop. I don't regret my choice at all, on the contrary, I think it's a pity there are so little acoustic Epiphones nowadays. I must unfortunately say that, in time, this guitar has become unplayable. The neck is bent due to the deformation suffered over time. That's definitely THE main drawback of this guitar. The bridge also cracked, even though it was always protected with cardboard or in the case. Nevertheless, for the price, I think it aged well all the same...See less00
