Japanese manufactured, according to the sites devoted to old Japanese guitars (there are fans of these instruments), Suzuki has made acoustic guitars from 1951 to about 1980, these guitars were usually handmade, and are mostly replicas some models and MARTIN GIBSON (the latter being the reproduction of MARTIN D35). In any case, all sites available on the subject, all agree in praising the high quality of these instruments;

So I give you my opinion on the matter ...

Information taken from a luthier, it seems that no solid wood enters the composition of the body ...

Spruce top, rosewood and maple funds (3 parts), rosewood sides - all rolling, so ... - The handle, I do not know (mahogany, perhaps because it pulls on the red).

It seems to be 1968, according to the serial number (hard to read, however).

UTILIZATION

The handle is quite large, and covered with a gloss (it starts badly ...)

Access to acute is like on most guitars without dreadnought cutaway, that is difficult beyond the junction of neck / body heel is not too large.

The guitar is pretty light.

Despite the disadvantage mentioned above, it is still very playable, just practice it often, and you get used to ...

I put 8, mainly because of the gloss on the handle (I consider it as a heresy ..)

SOUNDS

Sound, there is the pleasant surprise and is very convincing, despite the apparent absence of solid wood and comes dangerously close to the sound ... Martin, the bass is powerful and deep, the midrange was hot, same as the treble, the whole is remarkably balanced, and the overall sound is very "soft".

It's impressive for a guitar against plywood ... but I would try to get information specifically on the wood used, because I have a doubt (if someone at the info, thank you in advance) .

Internet users are passionate about these guitars were therefore right, and I understand their passion ...

OVERALL OPINION

I have a few months, I paid a pittance - delivered in vintage flight case, and more! - (I dare not even say the price ...)
The value is excellent, and of course I would do this choice, just for fun, because I have three other guitars, I did not really need.

You should know that these guitars have become quite rare and sought a priori - by the fans anyway, despite this, they do not seem to have a rating staggering ... and it's a shame, as they deserve.

For the record, I knew the guitar since my teens, one of my cousins in having a at the time (it was the mid-seventies) that I found already excellent (indeed, I must ask him if it always has, because I know it has stopped the practice of insrument for a long time, ah, ah, you see me coming ...)

I also have a friend who has one (I do not know which model), well, Pierre FANEN, great guitarist unfortunately died and met my friend wanted to buy him at any cost ...

So if you can find in one, you take it while supplies ...
