Published on 04/16/03 at 15:00I bought the guitar as "pre-owned" it seems to have hardly been played. Had planned on buying a Taylor but alas, it didn't work out. I paid $350 US for it. I had played several Seagulls and felt they were a very good quality guitar. For the money you cannot get this nice craftmanship.
Neck and frets are extremely nice, i pick a lot of leads and play out in a duo setting so this is very important. The LR Baggs Micro-EQ pickup (active) is great and looks cool and sort of retro. The guitar is very responsive to player style, it's quiet and sad sounding when you want it to be , and rowdy and ballsy when you need it to be.
Great for fingerstyle too. Also, not everyone is playing a Seagull.
This is the only Cedar top guitar I have and the wood top is delicate. But this is not a "beater" guitar so handled properly, it should not be an issue.
Well made and a joy to play
Based on the price, playability and quality of this unit it gets a 5.
