Taylor 410

This is a great Dreadnought Acoustic guitar made by one of my favorite guitar manufacturers, Taylor. I have been getting more into the dreadnought sound recently, as I've been playing by myself and need a more powerful sound when I play. The guitar has a sitka spruce top and a Ovangkal side and back wood, which is a wood that I've never encountered before (at least knowingly). There are 20 frets on an ebony fretboard, which I love on an acoustic. There are no electronics on this guitar, it is simply a purely acoustic guitar.

UTILIZATION

The top frets, unfortunately, are very difficult to reach. I really don't think that most players who are looking for this type of guitar would worry too much about that, though, as the guitar is great for rhythm. That isn't to say that you can't play some sick leads on it, but they don't necessarily need to be really high up on the fretboard to be effective. The great Taylor sound is there immediately, as long as you are a decent player they make you sound great.

SOUNDS

The sound of this guitar is a rich, powerful sound. I really like just strumming really hard, it has an energy and a power to it that can really be intimidating when playing with a softer guitar. I also really like to pick and fingerpick with it, the extra oomph that is has compared to normal acoustics is a striking contrast to a strummed normal acoustic. I have found that if you have a good control of dynamics (which most players don't anymore, sadly), that this guitar has a vast dynamic range that can't really be emphasized enough. One thing I've noticed is that a bright, brittle tone (which I find I need sometimes) is hard to achieve on this instrument, so be conscious enough of that when considering it.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, this is a guitar that feels really good to play and sounds amazing. The dreadnought sound that Taylor is exploring has produced some great results, and this is no exception. In fact, I feel as though this might be the best dreadnought model that I have played yet, and I've certainly played good ones. Highly recommended, assuming you can afford the almost 2 grand price tag. Craigslist is probably the way to go on this one.

The country of manufacture ... really unimportant. Everyone knows making shit or its opposite.

Handle: Thin, pleasant to touch. Perhaps a good setting to do. It's very playable, but the action is too high. The price of these guitars, the settings should perfect beings.

UTILIZATION

Handle: Again? It's an obsession! So, very fine to the touch, round and pleasant.

How many frets: I have not counted and I damn. I'm not two or three frets about ... and then play above the 15th boxes, I would like to see that!

Ergonomics: It's pretty big.

Comfort: I am rarely used box spring.

Access to acute: Fuck too. Fashion canted left feeling. You lose the sound, the beauty and the few guitarists that exceed the twelfth fret ... And now they totally remove the rose. Looks blind guitars ... it's moooooooooooooche!

In the sound: It's fine. Quality, robustness feel. It looks like a lumberjack guitar. In picking, there is better. It's still a little closed. it should be both green wood. But yes, it's beautiful. Well ... I dare say. I just try Alvarez to 160 euros. I preferred the sound of Alvarez. Is a killer. on the other hand, not say that in 10 years it will still be alive. But when you see the price difference, I still feel that there is the customer sodomy. It really is a beautiful guitar, but damn, it's expensive. It's not worth it to put this award for sound. This is a huge bullshit to believe that because it's expensive, it sounds. I tried guitars with a collector friend. There are worse than Taylor. It's, though, it sounds good. But the price ... why? What justifies these differences? Wood, finish, the country? No and again no! we must think outside the box, look elsewhere than the pub shows. A friend made me try Fursch ... damn, it sounds like this stuff! Rhaaaaaaaaa! Blueridg ... and there's no picture! (It will recognize ..)

SOUNDS

If it suits me? Yes, I like it, but I would never buy at this price.

Finally, beautiful guitar very good quality. Me, I just want a guitar that sounds. Ultimately, occas, it can be a good deal. I really think it will age well.

Not for beginners. For collector. But she did not leave me indifferent. I like him.

OVERALL OPINION

It is not for me, but I is paid regularly. I enjoy playing it on.

UTILIZATION

Handle extremely comfortable (as much as that of my Strat US!)
Limited access to acute at the 15th fret (no cutaway)
Very good ergonomics, balance body / sleeve, light weight despite the size dreadnought
Elixir strings pulling medium
The guitar is very easy to play, no special effort to make it sound right now!

SOUNDS

Harmonics emerge right away, very much on all frets-not only in the 5th, 7th and 12th frets, especially on the G string, great for arpeggios.
In agreement with or without a pick, this guitar projects very strong and very far, but only if the sounds do not mix in "yogurt" as sometimes happens on low-end models.
The E string acute, however, could be a little more to my taste crystal clear: in arpeggio, it must be strong enough to pinch it pops out from other strings.
The bass is deep and warm, yet crisp, with no "vomit"

OVERALL OPINION

I use it only for 2 days but already I find fantastic! The sound is very balanced, not too crystal-clear but with a lot of harmonics, the bass is beautiful, round and nervous at the same time. The guitar is ideal for the arpeggio (despite my little note on the Acute E) through the sublime harmony but also rhythm, as it has a powerful projection while maintaining the clear notes of the chord parts.
Very good price / quality ratio (I also tried Martin medium for my taste too, Larrivée: also very good guitars in the same price range, there is cause to hesitate ...)
No regrets, then! We must know on the other hand be patient: Almost five months have elapsed between my ordering and delivery of this guitar ...

A very well finished flat top as anything offered by Taylor. Spruce top and bottom sides ovankgol. Ebony fingerboard.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very comfortable and thin enough to play the low E to the thumb very easily, finger picking is rather an advantage. Access to acute is limited but hey it's not a "cutaway", so no surprise ...

SOUNDS

I use string Elixir Custom Light (.011 .015 .022 .032 .042 .052) me sharing between finger picking and flat picking (bluegrass). Faur recognize that it can do everything, the sound is very balanced, I play finger closer to the soundhole, flat in I approach the bridge, in both cases, the attack is very nice, powerful pick. The sound is dasn each case very clear and very well balanced lipimde.

OVERALL OPINION

I gained hand back nearly 10 years, had long played a Martin D 18 of the 80 average bill frankly, no regrets about it, it was a wrestler's left hand to hold more one hour concert! On this 410, no need to "tap" to get a beautiful sound and a nice attack, it sounds all alone! I tested a Takamine, but their sound is too specific they, like Ovation at the time ... The value is very favorable, as all that has (or had?) Taylor, species are of high quality, very neat instrument making, delivered in a beautiful case ... The more I practice, the more its qualities are expressed as with any instrument. I brought up a microphone (and I mean a micro and not a sensor) Schertler under the saddle, the result is really high.
