Evans GENERA HD Dry Coated

I acquired this head for free from a friend who didn't like it, but I'd imagine it would retail for around $12-14

I usually have a coated G1 on my snare, and it's definitely a head to swear by. But I was genuinely impressed when I slapped this head on my 14x5.5" Pearl Session Custom snare and cranked it up. With a head like this, who needs to play rimshots?! I'm in love with the sheer power of the sound and the nice, meaty "crack" that the head gives when you smack it in the center. The muffle ring and dry vents around the perimeter equalize the head just right, eliminating only the harsh, extraneous overtones. Ghost notes articulate wonderfully, with an even response from edge to center.

Nothing! This is one of the best snare heads on the market, in my opinion. The only thing that some people might not like is that the wires of brushes can get easily caught in the dry vents.

The head is made from two plies and has a muffle ring and dry vents (holes) around the perimeter. It has a very solid feel, especially when tuned high.

If you want to get more out of your snare drum, buy this head! I have confidence that this head can breathe life into any snare drum!It's also a good choice for players like me who want more power without having to play stick-breaking rimshots! The bottom line: BUY IT!

I bought this skin for the snare of my Basix Custom because I
wanted a dry, short, and powerful. Well I must say that the
Genera HD Dry sand silent I was looking skin. There is a muffler
integr skin and decompression winds are fucking great!
Frankly, if your fan of this kind of sound (dry and powerful, without
rsonance many) then this skin is done for you! In addition, sanding
holds well.

For about 3-4 months

- What is the particular feature you like best and least?
Most: power brings hits
The least ... nothing!


- Have you tried many other models before acqurir?
I tried the Remo Ambassador on the drumkit that I use currently,
OK, but nothing more. Obviously the skin and also in UK dpart, but l
ca speaks for itself ...

- How do you report qualitprix?
-Excellent, I d have it for something like 14/15 euros, drumkit & Co.

- With the exprience, you do again this choice?
-Of course! But I would be tempted to test other, to say to
connatre Moreover, because of Aquarian Satin Finish or Aquarian Hi-Energy

With Evans heads on my drums and as I wanted to replace my skin Remo Ambassador I decided to take a Snare Evans. And I can tell you that I did well! This skin is exactly my expectations and my steel snare. (It really brings out the attack on the steel, all its power and high)
The skin produces a dry (very) and I find it even adds a little treble. It thus has a powerful attack dry without harmonics (there really is not at all). It therefore represents a powerful play like rock, alternative, progressive, neo metal ... To me it sound ideal, but beware! ... I saw on the forum baguetterie particular that many people disliked him. They have blamed their lack of harmonics, because it really is not and that's what I like (among others). It does not correspond at all to jazz, country, or any other music that needs a snare with good sustain, harmonics, and an attack in the midrange.
Furthermore it seems very durable hat, at least she got la'aire good handle shocks, compared to the ambassador who loses gift sanding at high speeds (in the middle of the snare).
It's been about two weeks that I use, I find its value for normal price ... Finally, it is more expensive than average skins (17 euro 50 on the internet) but it is good quality and it is a double ply sanded which explains this.
In any case with the experience that I would do on that choice. No doubt Evans is widely Remo, I really like their skins. on the other hand I would really test the Aquarians, because they are reputable.
