The CB Drums Maxx SP Series Kit is a beginner's drum set. The drummer that I grew up playing with and still play with had this drum set as his very first and I would mess around with it all the time. He still actually has the kit, but it's been lying in pieces for years since he now has two very nice Yamaha kits to work with. This drum set is nothing more than that for someone to learn on. It's not a terrible sounding drum set, but definitely not suitable for anything other than learning and practicing on. We did do some recording with the kit back in the day, but the standard for quality wasn't exactly at an all time high back then! I don't know what make up this kit usually comes in, but his was with kick drum, floor tom, and rack tom to go along with a snare. No cymbals are included with the kit as far as I know, and I also don't really know what sizes the drums are although it's pretty standard from what I can recall. I doubt that CB Drums (also known as CB Percussion) is still making this kit, but I really don't know for sure. The Maxx SP Series Kit definitely isn't a bad one to learn on at all, as I'd recommend it as a dirt cheap option for doing so. For any use beyond this, it just doesn't meet expectations. If you're at all experienced with playing drums, you're going to want something that sounds better than this for sure. On the other hand, for those who are just getting started and want something used as cheap as possible, do a search for one of these Maxx SP Series Kits as they should be priced next to nothing and will do the job just fine for learning.
