I worked for 2 years on a Digi002, my studio is doing to know I needed to address the larger sessions, so I invested in a HD1 and two control interfaces 24.
The nothing to do with the LE. 96kHz recordings are excellent thanks to the digi interfaces.

UTILIZATION

The software interface is roughly the same as the LE. As for installation, no problem as it happened with a member of Digidesign.
There is still the benefit of TDM plug-in that allows you to load in plugs.
For the moment I turn on a PC with a P4, 1.5GB RAM and 750GB hard drive, but I intend to switch to Mac very soon.

GETTING STARTED

At 96 I'm running 32 kHz audio, which is just enough for music or film. A meileur HD2 is a good starting point.

OVERALL OPINION

My only regret is not having started with an HD2 or HD3 since 9 card DSP CORE HD quickly found themselves all used, two DSPs for the tracks, even 1 or 2 for the control 24, so we use them very quickly but otherwise it's really excellent, I can not wait to move to hd3 to really go framchement in my sessions.
For the moment I work on the hd for a good year, and really I take a lot of fun to work on ProTools, the black point for choosing c hd1 but it's not the fault of Digidesign.
I do it again ten times, but this choice by going live on the HD3

We have this in our main studio, the quality of this program is amazing. Everyone knows that Pro Tools is an industry standard, and it is! There are a lot of other programs that claim they are similar to Pro Tools, and people saying that Pro Tools isn’t as important as it use to be. But I am a firm believer that Pro Tools still is the best and will always be the best. We run Pro Tools on Mac . Works perfectly with no problems. We use it for mixing and mastering of complete songs that have been recorded, and it gives us a radio and album ready sound. The ability to get so in depth with audio on Pro Tools is why we made our decision to use this.


UTILIZATION

We get very little latency when using Pro Tools, we don’t record more than 2 track simultaneously unless we are recording live drums. The drivers that come with this program are very stable and have yet to fail use and probably never will. There are several updates they Pro Tools will release, but installing them is super easy and there is no complication.


GETTING STARTED

When we first got started it was a little overwhelming because we have never dealt with Pro Tools before, so reading the manual is a must. It will take time to fully understand the program, you will learn new stuff all the time.


OVERALL OPINION

The thing I love the most is the drivers for Pro Tools HD are amazing. I expected to get a lot more latency and problems with running them on an older Mac computer. But everything worked perfectly. The sound quality is amazing and if you are serious about your career this is a must have. The downside of the program is that it is very pricey. But if you can afford this you will never need anything else!

Their is so much to learn, plus digidesign updates their software to suit any and every need. Plug-ins are sick and you can collab analog and digital gear. Unlimited expandation...

Need to read pro tools books, but their are new training videos and more affordable pro tools schools born monthly...

OVERALL OPINION

96 to 192, what more can you ask for. 1000 times better converters than steinburg and motu.

Digidesign is still champion of digital recording.
