    Lofi with a purpose

Akai Professional ADM 65Published on 05/07/25 at 13:04
Released in 1981 according to my information.

I’m lucky to have found a pair, but both have a DIN connector instead of the usual jack connector.
It was the first item in my young collection back then. The price-to-quality ratio really encouraged me to keep going.

Dynamic microphone, marketed as "karaoke" at the time. Low impedance (between 200 and 600 ohms, I can't quite remember).

The sound is rather dull, but without cutting the highs. Just enough, in my opinion, to darken the unpleasant sharpness that appears when you change your strings. See my test in the video above :)
