    Dynamic microphone

    OVERALL OPINION

I used it once to use a voice, I feared the worst when he saw the machine (you can not really say he inspires confidence, especially as I had never heard of ...) and testing, Surprise!

Its very nice, the voice came out with a lot of medium, not a pet aggression, and as there was only piano and cello on stage, it was a real treat! No need to EQ, compressor, it sounded good to come.

I can not really say more, who used this mic on two songs, but I must admit he impressed me, and I felt more comfortable listening to the SM58, I should be far from a big fan ..

Fender P-51 Microphone KitPublished on 08/30/11 at 11:53
The Fender P-51 Mic Kit is a cheap way for beginner's in live sound to get a dynamic vocal microphone, an XLR cable, a clip, and soft carrying case. I hadn't ever heard of Fender making microphones until a few weeks ago when I used this mic. My friend who I was playing a show with brought the mic to the gig so we could use it as an extra vocal microphone. I don't know much about the accessories you get in this 'mic kit' but at least you get something to start off with. The P-51 microphone itself is not the best but will do an okay job for practicing or as a back up mic for live shows. The mic has a cardioid pick up pattern, although I'm not sure what the frequency response is. Even th…

Even though the mic is cardioid, you do need to be practically eating the mic to get a good response from it...

    OVERALL OPINION

The Fender P-51 Mic Kit is an okay little kit considering the price. It's nothing close to a professional sounding microphone as is the case for everything included in the pack. Everything is definitley cheap, but for the price it's kinda cool that you get everything you need in one place. Still, you're most likely going to be better off getting these things separately if you're looking for a serious mic at all. I definitely would not record with the P-51 and would only use it as a back up vocal microphone for live shows. As I said earlier, it doesn't have the easiest response as you really need to be right up on the mic for it to pick up everything. Even then it doesn't sound great, although to get a better idea of what it really sounds like I'd have to try it out in the studio. If you just need a super cheap mic and cable for practicing at home or with a band, the P-51 Mic Kit won't be too bad, but it's not close to a pro's mic.
