IPE Piano score unlimited 1Published on 12/01/11 at 21:26
This is a pretty useful ear training software. I was surprised to find how easy it was to work, and that no MIDI functions were necessary, although the program is much more useful with a MIDI keyboard. I didn't have any issues on my PC. The manual explains how to install the software quite clearly. The setup of the the entire program wasn't that hard. The functions are pretty easily accessible, there isn't any difficulty in getting the program to work.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The software works fine for the most part, but most of the time it does run slightly slow. Therefore I can't say that it's entirely stable. The performance, however, is ok. I've had this for years, and it r…

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The software works fine for the most part, but most of the time it does run slightly slow. Therefore I can't say that it's entirely stable. The performance, however, is ok. I've had this for years, and it really served me well a long time ago, it helps develop a natural ear. It's also something that you can continue to use for years to come, slowly improving your abilities.

    OVERALL OPINION

There are a lot of features to this software. There are exercises for developing familiarity with rhythm, melodic content and harmonic content. There are exercises where students will have to repeat melodies verbatim. There's a lot of exercises where students have to identify intervals, which is arguably the cornerstone of ear training. The harder exercises will include games where students have to identify and play notes. There also are sight-reading exercises, which aren't as related to ear training but are nonetheless important. I think the best thing about this software is that it allows you to focus on the areas where you need development. The software isn't perfect, but I think that for developing musicians, the potential for growth is quicker than relying an a teacher. I like this software and would recommend it.

Easy installation, reads like a DVD. No need for manual, you select the difficulty level (easy, easy, medium, hard) and a list of composers and pieces is proposed. One can listen to the score before printing.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

A laptop boosted (2.5 Gz, 320 GB, 4 GB) but it is not necessary. A sound card is enough original, good speakers are useful. It easily prints the scores with a beautiful edition. Easy to use, this software is a kind of "bank of rooms" free right to interpret the piano, there are 610, covering different periods in the history of classical music. Some pieces of research to practice more, the author of the DVD. The organization of parts per level is very …

    OVERALL OPINION

Excellent value for money as it was 59 euros for 610 partitions! it avoids lengthy searches on the net and gives ideas of workpieces. I know that Volume 2 is devoted to contemporary music (jazz, bossa ... etc with accompaniment), I plan to equip myself soon. With regard to this software, I find it indispensable to the amateur who is looking for parts in a given level of control, especially useful for beginners and intermediates, adults who are or are recovering at the piano. Collective use is authorized, which opens perspectives for music schools or associations. An app that is especially useful you can hear selections performed on the computer.
