My Mayones Be4 is a fretless with benchmarks, neck-through (Neck Through Body) 24 frets.
The two pickups are Bartolini active.



The amp is an Aguilar.
In short, the basic configuration for this model, except the handle NTB.
I has 4 knobs with a double, plus a switch active / passive volume knob an amp, a microphone for the acute one for the serious and the double effect "wide" and the effect of "slamming". The latter works especially for the slap, but on a fretless neck, the effect is quite limited ...

UTILIZATION

The gameplay is excellent handle fluid and sensual (yes, yes!).
The shape of the body makes all the frets easily accessible.
Ditto for the knobs, positioning ...
Her only "problem" for class use may be its weight, and more ...
It's a fretless, so bye bye "strips". But beware of fingers in the wrong place ... precision required!

SOUNDS

It is suitable for all types of music and games, with perhaps the slap if you only play with this method, for the reasons mentioned above: we can do, but have not abuse it.
I play a Warwick cube 100 W, with an active input.
I am especially attached metal, but I like to take some good punk songs cults (Beru, Exploited ...). For this, I use a Zoom 607 bass pedal: I can almost have a scratching sound with distortion!
The range of sounds is very broad. Not really fault this side: it's like a fretless, the sounds are more deaf than slap, but with the effects pedal is easy to "hide".

OVERALL OPINION

For over six months now that I use.
I had two Yamaha before, but as freight and passive models. Not comparable!
In terms of aesthetics, the side "raw" and round I like énormemment.
It has all the characteristics I expect from a bass, and the price is surprisingly enjoyable! I will not tell you how much I paid, but in stores it is trading normally around € 1400.
If I had to redo this purchase? Oh yes!
