Apex Guitars Synthesis Bass Standard

- Electric bass designed by luthier Kamel Chenaouy and handcrafted in Japan in 1982.
- Channel Driver 3 parts maple, rosewood fingerboard, 24 frets. Alder wings.
- 2 humbuckers Apex.
- Bridge to 4 jumpers in solid brass. Brass nut
- 1 3 position pickups selector, 1 volume, 1 tone, 1 split for each pickup, a phase inverter for micro acute. It can do a little "gas factory", but the sounds are by appointment (see below)

Finish: a beautiful dress "Metallic purple ink"

UTILIZATION

The grip is very nice, unusual bass is surprisingly light, well balanced, sitting or standing. The chamfers are well thought out, and are simply forgotten (it's finally what they are asked)
The handle is remarkable: a fairly late, access to exceptional highs, we are pleased the entire length of the handle without fatigue.
Steering electronics requires a little time to adapt to navigate (14 different sounds in total, still !!!), but it's worth it to spend a little time.

SOUNDS

This low slips easily into any style. We spend big sound without banging at the problem. The handle is well suited to slap.
We keep all the same, whatever happens, a lot of brightness and treble.
Sustain and definition of the notes are outstanding

All positions of switches are not necessarily interesting (for example, micro-acute phase out is only useful in combination with micro serious funk gives great sound), but some manipulations, we almost always ended up finding her account.

OVERALL OPINION

I have this bass for a few weeks. That's a long time since I tried to get an instrument Apex, which I knew the reputation.
This is definitely not usurped: the production quality of this instrument speaks for itself. As proof, my bass, 1982, is "in its own juice," and everything works perfectly. Indestructible!

A negative point?
This is not one for me, but it is certain that the shape, aesthetics, color choices of those instruments fit their time, which may put off some.

Too bad for them: they thus deprive themselves of French instruments whose quality, rare, beyond the "big names" of the guitar that has not hesitated them to the poor.
