Here is what they have to say:
"We tried to stay as close as possible to the original design, but at the same time it had to be a real De Gier. That means for instance that, looking at the neck, width, dimensions and scale are like a jazzbass, but the feel and construction are made the De Gier way.
Furthermore this is a 100% passive bass, but with an optional Fatboost switch (4th knob) for those who need a little extra low end in a live situation. (Boosted it is active.) This Fatboost is very subtle, it is only 3dB and it is so quiet and neutral that the passive sound is completely maintained. We developed this Fatboost together with Vanderkley amps."
Concerning wood and finishes, expect alder body and maple/rosewood neck in classic colours. The company also announces options like swamp ash/maple, custom colours, other pickups, binding and blockinlay, etc.
Pricing
