This is one of the first manufactured by Epiphone bass in Japan between 1971 and 1976.
His body is completely hollow, the handle is a short-scale with 20 boxes. It has a detachable string damper which is removable. The settings are just 2 vol., 2. tone selector and microphone.
UTILIZATION
The huge benefit of this is its low weight, it weighs nothing. The handle is nice for those who like short-scale.
SOUNDS
The sound of this bass is rather the old. I use it for rock and pop 60's and 70's. With a tube amp, you think of Jack Bruce Cream period, or the Jefferson Airplane ... not for short slappeurs tapping and other fans! However, with new ropes and modern amp, it can fit a lot of music latest ...
OVERALL OPINION
I have this bass for a year and I do not leave any time soon. It is perfect for long concerts with light weight and its round and powerful ... the problem is to find one!
Edit 3 years after
After trying an alternative to modern and vintage Fender United States, other Epiphone, Italia, Rickenbacker, etc.. I returned to the bass for me is definitely the best. It has a sound that stands alone in a mix through several guitars and lots of arrangements. The playability is perfect.
