    A Japanese Fender

Fender Precision Bass JapanPublished on 10/05/13 at 03:09
(This content has been automatically translated from French)
This is a Precision Bass Japanese manufacturing model. The one I have is a model 87, the young lady any more. Rosewood handle 20 boxes with buttons, 2 knobs (one volume and one tone) and an input jack on the front classic. Mechanical ultra classic and primary unadorned. The base model has a single micro PB. On mine, I have made some changes which I will discuss below.

    UTILIZATION

The handle is very comfortable to play, close enough, a real boulevard with access to acute without any problems. The violin is good, the balance is perfect for a very reasonable weight. Sound when it is typed in Fender sound so characteristic PB with perhaps a bit less definition on a U.S. model.

    UTILIZATION

The handle is very comfortable to play, close enough, a real boulevard with access to acute without any problems. The violin is good, the balance is perfect for a very reasonable weight. Sound when it is typed in Fender sound so characteristic PB with perhaps a bit less definition on a U.S. model.

    SOUNDS

The sound is perhaps at this point that the bottom lies on this model "Japan". The microphone, without being ridiculous however, leaves a feeling of incompleteness. As I said above, it feels less definition than a U.S. model, the sound is a little rough.
Be careful though, the performance of this microphone is still fairly good. We found the sound of the PB trademark of this model
For my part, wanting more versatility in sound, I changed the electronics, by asking a Bartolini JB + PB kit. So I now two microphones and 3 knobs, 2 volume and 1 tone. The jack, when it was moved to the edge. Now the sound is quite different.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for over 20 years ... having still set aside a time to switch to another model. She returned to service regularly, it suits me because of its playability and sound that became huge after the "upgrade".
This model has long been criticized, accusing him of being a pale copy of the U.S. models. If I compare the electronics which is a bit below the U.S., the violin when she is of very good quality comparable to their U.S. cousins but well ahead Mexican copies.
If you have the opportunity to try, do not hesitate, you may be surprised.

    Fender 1986 Precision Bass

Fender Precision Bass JapanPublished on 12/02/03 at 15:00
I bought this bass used off of a friend in 1987. I bought the bass to use on gigs. It cost me 300 dollars at the time.

The bass has all stock equipment. The neck has a great feel. Bass gives a great sound and its in almost perfect condition.

    Nothing!

The bass was constucted great, it is definatly a high quality bass.

This is a top of line bass. Its extremely hard to find but well worth it. This bass is a dream to play!
