UTILIZATION

The handle is it enjoyable?
It is a remarkable handle extremely well done and enjoyable. In my case the reference in terms of handle 4 strings fast and accurate is the Neuser Crusade 4. The Marcus Miller is pretty close to perfection. I invite you to test a Neuser Crusade for the experience, when you have tasted it becomes VERY demanding. 20 frets is good enough for a 4 string, and it is a precision instrument.
Ergonomics is it good (in terms of shape, weight ...)?
This is a Jazz Bass, a model of comfort since its inception. Against by the body is ash, dense wood and therefore ... heavy. With a good belt (locking fasteners are in the package), it is quite possible to play up a good time. Of course, if you are under five feet and you have a middle cotton swab you may encounter some problems with comfort. Overall, the Jazz Bass is a reference in terms of comfort and ergonomics, often copied ... often copied.
When you're a monster groove and technicality as Marcus expensive it is obvious that it is more convenient to tease an instrument perfectly manageable.
Easily obtained bass sounds. Good, it will depend on the bassist who uses it.

SOUNDS

Time to save the animal.
Warning: this is particularly low.
Two modes coexist, a passive mode where you have two volumes of microphones and active mode with two volumes and two equalizers.

Passive mode alone covers the needs of bass on a Jazz Bass. Both pickups are excellent, precise and smooth. The hardcore growl. The sounds are those of a very good JB. The bridge pickup, a single coil Fender Vintage JazzBass, delivers a substantial dose of acute pinched (full volume) and provides the characteristic sound of the JB with a more pronounced due to the solid ash body. The neck pickup, the Honourable JazzBass 75 'Father Leo, is to give a little soft and round. But beware, even this passive microphone is able to take off lines slap & pop, once again thanks to the violin ash / maple.
These are two very dynamic microphones, full of character and yet capable of roundness or franchise in the attack according to the technique of the game could stop these two microphones and their volumes but Guy Marcus had the idea to boost the beast with two equalizers.

The active mode is a bit special as involving two equalizers, one for high frequencies and one for low frequencies. The Grumpy complain about the lack of a midrange equalizer (or parametric mid). They go looking elsewhere or they make an effort to listen to the bass in passive mode first (mid superb) and learn to use both EQ. Mediums are naturally present, a boost / cut treble and bass allows a wide variety of games and sounds, the ideal option for working slap.
The preamp is very criticized, rightly when pushed to the maximum. But honestly there is no point to volumes thoroughly. For more brightness as choosing appropriate strings and focus on practicing the instrument.
To exploit the JB Marcus Miller takes a few precautions:
- Be specific in the attacks and mutes
- How to manage sounds essentially in various positions and power play
- Master the fine in passive mode and use the assets to meet the sauce
- Become black, big, and very talented U.S.. The hat is optional.

OVERALL OPINION

What is the JB Marcus Miller?
It is obvious
- To take to the Grand Marcus front of the mirror
- To tear his hair to gain an ounce of its technical
- To play the bass with "Signature" really nice
- To play bass with one of the best JB all models

Why Marcus Miller in a set-up?
If you already have a low "road" it is a bet to test this terrible Japanese will not leave you unharmed. Even if you have with you a collection of JB all over the U.S. than the other, this Marcus Miller (or M ²) is totally atypical as the crossroads of the fusion and classic sound. May be one of the few capable of sounding JB JazzBass and more.
Admit that it is not trivial because of the difficulty of finding one that sounds good JB JB JB from home.

Precision with a top level and can be a Stingray or a Warwick Streamer for sounds very typical, you only need this for M ² handy park absolute bassist demanding.

This new M ² arrived home after an exchange with a MusicMan Bongo 5 HH, a bass that has nothing to do with JazzBass. The two are not comparable: the M ² is rather straightforward to take over, even if it reveals subtleties that dropper, while Bongo, his 4-band EQ and two humbuckers big demand for detective work find sounds. In both cases these are excellent bass. That one is Japanese and the other "made in USA" does not change anything at all especially when you know the minutiae of Japanese luthiers.

In this sum M ² 4 Japanese strings do not have much to envy to 5 strings model of the USA, especially if you fall in love with the handle of the 4 strings, delight which, again, competes fairly closely with that of Neuser Crusade 4.

The gloss natural ash may put when you look at a picture, but in reality it is very elegant (two body parts "bookmatched") and if you please ... take it as white or black!
