This bass is made in Britain by luthier Bernie Goodfellow.
Maple neck, profile jazz bass, 24 frets ebony fingerboard.
Ash body, flamed maple top.
The pickups and active electronics 18v are also designed by Bernie Goodfellow.
Controls: Master volume, balance microphones, serious tone-mid-treble, a switch "brightness".
Dual Action trusrod.

UTILIZATION

A well balanced bass that does not sting the nose like some Jazz Bass.
Surprisingly, despite his imposing body, this bass is very light. We do not feel it on the shoulder after an hour of play standing. Access to treble is perfect, nothing wrong. The ergonomics are perfect at any point.

SOUNDS

Sounds obtained with this kind of bass are extremely varied. The vintage sound through the sound crisp and clear until the very bold in his grave, anything is possible with my Spitfire. It really fits all styles of music with electronic sound very efficient. I use both in rock, blues or jazz. Versatility is his forte.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this bass for just one year. Bass very rare in France, I was lucky to find this model used in England for about the equivalent of 2000 € (new, it takes about 3000 €). The value for money may seem high, but it's a bass luthier ... and it shows when it is taken in hand. I would do the same choice if the opportunity were to arise. But they are rare!
