I bought this bass from Music123.com for $149.99. I was looking for a short scale bass and I tried several in a local store. This was by far the best of the bunch. I also tried the Ibanex GAXB150, which was perhaps the worst piece of crap I ever held in my hands. Ibanez should be as embarassed as Squier/Fender should be proud of this little bass.

I love the short scale which makes for a faster, smaller fingerboard. The maple fingerboard is beautiful to look at as well. The single pickup produces a surprising rage of tones and has some serious bottom. Those who have downgraded this pickup must be playing it through a tin can of an amp. The finish is bright and glossy and just retro enough to be ultra-cool. Due to the short scale, slap and pop probably aren't gonna work too well, but it sounds outstanding with a pick or just normal finger-plucking.

The setup was non-existent. I had to fix the neck relief and action before it would even make a sound without buzzing all over the place. The intonation, obviously, had to be set as well. Other than that, there's not much to dislike.

It's built like the proverbial brick sh*thouse. Solid as a rock, but not overly heavy. The frets are well dressed and the balance of the guitar is perfect. Either this guitar is an anomality or Squier is really doing a better job these days.

The bottom line is simple: for $150 you can't even imagine such a sweet short scale bass. Any guitar player who needs a bass simply HAS to buy this stick. For that matter any BASS player needs one. It's easy to carry, sounds great and may just be the only bass I take to practices anymore, not to mention it will find it's way to gigs too. Buy one. OK, stop reading now and go get it, already!

The Squier Bronco bass is made by the company as an homage to the old short scale (30") Fender Music Master basses made in the 70s. This one is a cheaper import version that is great for kids who are starting, or people with smaller hands, or even if someone just wants a great small bass to noodle around with. It features an agathis body, maple neck and fretboard with 19 frets, standard sealed tuners and regular bridge. There is a pickguard with one solitary single coil pickup placed there along with a volume control and a tone control.

UTILIZATION

This bass is pretty light and easy to play, so I would say it is ergonomic. It's great for smaller players who need something that won't intimidate them (basses with their longer scale can do that). The shape is easy to get around and it feels comfortable as well, which is definitely a plus. The cutaways don't allow for GREAT upper fret access, but it's certainly not the worst in the world, probably average I would say. Getting a good sound out of this bass is pretty easy since it has only the one pickup... you really are relying on the amp for anything other than the one tone that this bass can offer.

SOUNDS

This bass has a decent sound for being what it is. The single coil pickups is rather low in output, but it's definitely punchy and has a certain tone to it that is great for lo-fi textures. It's not the thickest sounding bass in the world, but like the original Fender short scale basses, it's got a nice thin and wiry sort of tone that cuts through a mix well. It is kind of akin to a guitar in that respect... it more or less sits in more of a midrange frequency rather than the strong low end of a typical longer scale bass. I would like to hear one of this basses someday with humbuckers or something hotter, just to see how that would change the tone.

OVERALL OPINION

All in all I think the Squier Bronco Bass is a great little tool for the budding bassist, or someone who just needs a smaller instrument. It's easy enough to play, feels great, and has a cool sound due to the short scale and single coil pickup. They run about $150 new which is a fair enough price, though they can be had for less if you buy used. For those in the market for a simple bass that has the shorter scale, the Bronco Bass by Squier is an excellent option!

This bass was manufactured in t Indonsie.Elle 19 boxes and a single microphone, but good enough, I do not know the microphones dtails but the model has a fairly pchu.
Logically it has no pickup selector but it has two rglages possible, the volume and tonality like a lot of bass.

This low should do a lot of style music, reggae punk rock, or other yet it fits a lot of kind of musique.On can get a wide enough range of sound with and we often see that tonn so the sound of it.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for several months (6 or 7) and I think for the price it is definitely peine.Avant to play on this bass I had tried several models but this one caught me by the quality Sound + sortait.En who with his stick shorter it is less tiring to play.
With an experience we'll propose again, I will not refuse certainly not a model like this.

This bass is made in indonesia, it's a short scale (small pitch) with a 19-round boxes. There is a single coil pickup driven by a volume knob and a tone. The bridge is like music-old man with two strings per saddle.
the handle is very thin, very close to a "big electric guitar."

UTILIZATION

My daughter uses it for 1 year, although I offered him since 4 years already. She also has a precision squier she does not want to use. She has the build and the hands of a teenager 15 years and this is where we discover the qualities of this bass: the children can play without breaking the bank back and parents too, to rest your fingers on a handle to ease while relieving vertebrae. I bought this bass € 210, € 70 the microphone and the bridge 35 €: € 315 for my daughter has a serious instrument, well made, which sounds, and whose weight makes him prefer his bass in his bag school ....
The value is excellent, the possibilities for developing low cost, then yes, I do it again this choice without hesitation.
