Published on 07/07/14 at 07:1224 frets, rather thin maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, alder body
2 humbuckers
1 volume by micro (not practical to use) + 1 tone (useless), passive
Taiwan manufacturing
UTILIZATION
Handle end but tend to curl for nothing fair in slow play. Little used solo. I set the action, changed the strings, the curvature of the handle, nothing to do: it frieze.
Low very well balanced and light.
Good access to acute.
Given the simplicity of the electronics (type condo shunt on a knob) and the balance by 2 micro pots, you can play only one sound per piece or per concert.
Relatively weak signal but this is normal (passive).
Very good build quality, intact after years of use.
Tune is not a function of the moisture.
IMPORTANT: never any ground noise, or spitting, etc.. Super reliable.
SOUNDS
For accompanying song, walking bass, 70's rock, blues, slap.
This bass has only one sound, it takes considerable force to play and frieze, there is no treble and midrange are very discreet, you better have an equalizer on hand for a little versatility.
Yet the sound is VERY GOOD: powerful, does not mix with other instruments. This sound is very popular in blues, for example, described as powerful, provides a very good rhythmic foundation.
Amp: Pregnant 15 "+ tweeter + bullet head ashdown little giant 350.
Works well live on a PA HK Lucas.
OVERALL OPINION
Used for 6 months, she took the dust as low third of my little brother.
I usually play on fretless Cort B4. I tried an Ibanez SR305 (stuck in sawdust covered plastoc) Cort Bass Standard (for college students), a Fender Jazz Bass (great sound, but much much more expensive and electronic m ...), a Warwick corvette (1 ton weight), a Cort Curbow (great fun but unbalanced).
Sound: always the same frieze death solo and fast game.
VERY GOOD BASS support for beginner or more.
Special mention for the blues, good sustain, good bass. Super.
Excellent reliability, never noise. A real mule on which you can always count on.
But if I had to regularly use a fretted bass, I would take an active bass and range much higher.
I put the 'average' overall opinion because:
- Low versatility
- Border
+ Super reliable (mechanical and "electronic")
+ Excellent grip (mild, balanced, well-drawn)
+ Extra support and blues, good pop 70's
