Yamaha BB3000MA

Very low premium Ralis in Japan since 2001 by luthier at Yamaha (my salesman told me that these lower Entirely made by hand, were built from A and Z by a luthier not like the string yamaha sries) mine is the 301me built so I think that these basses are very limited in number in the world (the price also limiting demand, 3000 euro low New ...).
The body is modeled on the BB of the 80s, S-type BB3000 which played bassist Michael Anthony of Van Halen.
The neck-through, relatively large compared to Fender JB or PB, the key is ebony which gives a particular character to the sound. The inlays are shaped peppers (Michael Anthony touch ...) The pickups are very good for series (of alnico, a double type PB and a single)
configuration 2 knobs (Tone and volume) and a micro slecteur 3 position is super efficient, very versatile.
Low passive recess.

UTILIZATION

In terms of playability, the bass is heavy enough (good strap de rigueur), but this is not Gnant either, it's a low for the rockers, not for dancers ...
CASC to treble is good, the neck is very pleasant, satin varnish does not stick to fingers.
the frets are pleasant.
The sound is good right now, settings super efficient with the 2 knobs!


SOUNDS

The sound is really falling ... standard, the words I miss is a bass sound incredibly dense wood with solid bass and midrange bass, treble sweet, but mostly natural wood and a stamp rare, very hamon pr deed.
Low-type rock, but like all low, we just play many different styles, bossa, jazz, pop, blues ... mtal possibly ...
The slapping going well but the bass is not to slap size, rather the game at your fingers or plectrum.
I play on Ampeg, the record is really beautiful, no personal effects, but I had a GT6B ago, went well! but the sound of the bass line in the ampeg is so magic that effect are unnecessary. I Plugg on a Mesa for a rpeter ... wow! fabulous, rich in sound.

OVERALL OPINION

Soon, I use it since 8 years and this is my main bass, I find it even improves with the years I played on fenders , a G & L, but it's really about yamaha that I take my foot.
Price lev yes, but I would do is choosing without hesitation, it is a low exception! If you see one in stores, try, just for the experience ... see!
