I got this from Musician's Friend on sale for $130. A really good price, since I've seen 'em going for $200 elsewhere.

I picked the unit up because I simply wasn't (and still am not) in a position to blow $600 on a decent collection of individual pedals. I was originally looking at the Digitech RP-3, but wound up getting this instead, which I think was a good decision.

Most of the effects, including the phaser, chorus, flanger, pixellator and so forth are fantastic, and were much better than I expected out of a $130 unit. Contrary to what a lot of people say, the Wah is pretty good if you're using a humbucking pickup with a reasonably fat sound.

The patch editor is great. When I invested a half hour in tweaking a patch, I was almost always able to get the sound I was looking for.

The noise gate is very good, and does a lot to improve the sound of my admittedly cheap guitar. The tuner's awesome.

Well, there's no nice way of putting this, the distortions are pitiful, and shouldn't have even been included. I got a better metal sound out of my practice amp's push button overdrive. The valve effects for a light distortion or overdrive are decent at least.

Like most multi-effects, the VGS-50 is set up so that you can only use one 'effect' at a time. One delay, one reverb, one distortion, one special effect, etc. So if you have your heart set on a beautiful chorused phase with a nice brittish-grunge hybrid, you're not gonna find it here.

Good. Almost all plastic, save for the metal base. It seems sturdy, but I wouldn't put it through too much abuse. Don't jump on it, in other words.

I think it was a very good unit for the money, don't get me wrong. And I can get a ton of nice sounds out of it. But spending a half hour to get everything *juuuuuust right* so you can play along with a four minute song makes me wish I just had a distortion pedal and a couple effects. If you're new to this, and want to see what different effects can do for you, I'd say it's a great buy; a lot better than that Zoom stuff. But it has it's limits, and they can really be restricting sometimes.

The Dod is a multi-effect guitar VGS50 type pedalboard includes a lamp. Most effects are of type numrique, cepandant distos some are obtained by saturating the lamp. The connection just "just" is a line level input and 2 outputs for Left and Right Stereo effects, and a minijack headphone output and an auxiliary input.

as what you can change your mind ... WHA is friendly and almost more than I use this on pdalier ... and some tips for fun in dub ... like ring mod ... the rest I made because no external tap tempo and not enough feedback for delays ... Much better since I use a Peavey Classic 50!

UTILIZATION

Easy to use, the bottom bracket is used by adding different effects and functions diponibles, the parameters are very simple to understand, the manual a few pages did not t Necessary for understanding the craft.

SOUND QUALITY

The distos are of good quality Mylen a lot of background noise on some, some effects numriques remain somewhat limited. The use of the lamp in "clean" in this case will often warm up the sound and hiding the MISR. Wha's also lack of openness.

OVERALL OPINION

APRS 1 year of use, I dplore the external appearance of this that really multieff morfler during his various travels ... Repeat / concerts / Buff ... Admittedly, its manufacture "plastoc" does not help its conservation. Despite all the shocks, it continues to function well and the lamp does not seem out of breath. Before buying it, I was trying OCCAZ a POD, and a digitech and GT5, all struck me as too sophisticated and too outgoing sound FM for my taste. The VGS50 me out a sound that I did not used to hearing and that's why I took it. However, navigation and edition of the effects is still a bit broken jaws and its ability to stoquage 30 effects is quite limited. the display lacks brightness ... ban outdoor scenes to me in June paskeu seen nothing!

SOUND QUALITY

TRS good distortion I like .. great for fast solos although very heavy .. but the best of the best is the noise supressor ... so beautiful ... no noise and letting go even when all harmonics .. vraiemnt good ...
Otherwise, there are factory preset really nice ..
The clean sound is really amazing too light

OVERALL OPINION

Good product but good for her .. no MIDI, a small sampler of 7secondes and nothing special from the incomparable quality of sound ... (I think) .. I do not spare, but its share of fun, there is nothing in comparison to multi-spc current effect .. In other words, even when global note ..
