Lexicon MPX G2

the MPX G2 is a multi purpose 1U dating a bit (1998), as it offers all these competitors of the era and now a full range of analog effects (without lights) and digital wha, distortion (this is not a true preamp), compressor, chorus, phaser, flanger, pitch shifter, harmonize, rotary, tremolo, auto-pan, delay, reverb, EQ, jamman (looper) and so on!

it has:
Guitar 2 entry (front and rear)
4 analog outputs (2 XLR, TRS 2)
Send a loop
2 loop return
1 foot switch to
1 pedal to
Midi in a 7-pin (power supply for pedals)
1 MIDI out
1 MIDI Through
1 headphone jack on the back
A 9 volt power supply for external devices

as said before ... no editor app!

UTILIZATION

Machine proposes 7 blocks available simultaneously:
gain (crunch, screamer, overdrive, distortion ...)
FX1 (detune, shift, panning, tremolo, univybe, comp, phaser, drive, wah ...)
FX2 (ditto)
chorus (chorus, flanger, rotary ...)
delay (delay, echo, loop, jamman, Ducker
Reverb (chamber, hall, ambient, flat gate)
EQ (1-4 bands)

it is possible to manage the settings, instead (in the signal), the bypass of each element independently. managing also 2 patches in 1 with Option A / B (control via MIDI) short of huge opportunities.

The big downside is the use of the MPX G2 is very difficult to access for editing patches!
the logic of navigation between the many different possibilities offered by the machine cool at first ... unfortunately austere record, available only in English does not help the process!
but we understood that logic it becomes easy to create these patches!

SOUND QUALITY

There is no perfect
I have not made the rounds of all the possibilities of the machine but it gives me satisfaction. I've tried the Rocktron replifex, voodu valve Porphesy, boss gx-700, TC Electronic and Gmajor Gforce, digitech gsp-1101, Line 6 Pod Pro and the Lexicon is by far the best followed by the Rocktron Prophesy! because it has a loop that allows them to insert into the signal (where it is desired) an external preamp (which is my case). for the effects (the ones I use) I find impeccable (screamer, wah, gate, Pitchshifter, chorus, delay, reverb). for the competition they all have good effects too (TC, Rocktron, Digitech) but the flexibility of inserting the loop is really a huge plus. GSP-1101 also has a loop but do not have as much freedom in the signal integration.
ditto for the GX-700 which effects the quality does not compete with the MPX G2 ... the only one who can put it in the shade is the prophesy (for my taste).

OVERALL OPINION

Since I can, but it surpasses what I have in years in terms of effects and signal management.
sound quality is there!
