This opinion concerns a Black Box set V1-date with the latest firmware (version Reloaded therefore equivalent).
We are facing a machine functionally trs complte, whether in terms of simulations (see notice of imrryr Retailer for the list) as accompaniments. It also becomes an interface audionumrique branch once a PC.
The machine is solid, basic mtal, it is not any lgre. It has a large screen, which is not always legible hlas: for example, the contrast between the background and the characters trs is low when you look at the screen above, whereas with an angle of 45 is perfect.
In short, apart from the problem of notch, a Black Box day is almost a full house.
UTILIZATION
The functional gain of the mission days is paid at the use. Indeed, the number of buttons / knobs did not move the machine, causing a "shift syndrome." If for some anecdotal rglages this is not serious trs, has quickly become agaant when it comes to rglage of mediums ... The combination is the same: "double click" a button (not always following the same function) and then turns the knob that goes. Fortunately the LCD indicates which paramtre is modified! But it is easy to forget the order of a given CSTA paramtre if you do not use it often.
Apart from that, and the problem of readability of screen evokes earlier, the Black Box is easy to use, each button is read there is no sub-sub .. .- menus is fast trs.
The only major complaint is the pilot among others to safeguard the presets on your computer or the update firmware. Despite several Reinstalling, it has a trs behavior with respect to random image-detection of the Black Box. Fortunately, we do not use it every day.
In short, the pilot ridicule and abuse of crippling note shiftage use.
SOUND QUALITY
Overall, there is no bad amp simulation, at least none I felt absolutely terrible. But conversely, I have not had big big favorite, so sometimes I navigate my presets without arriving to find "the" sound. But I insist, the simus plutt enjoyable stay.
The only major complaint would be about simus amp would be the characters a bit "muddy" simus of high gain, especially on JCM 800 and Rectifier. I know it's not the amps rputs to be ultra clean, but the abuse is just my humble opinion from what I've heard of these amps.
Among my simulations prfres: Jazz Chorus, Plexi, JCM 800, Uberschall, Diezel, Ecstacy.
On the effects ... I'm not a big user of effects, so my opinion will only be succinct trs. I like the chorus, the reverb is trslgre but did his job anyway, the delay provides a lot of opportunity principle, the wah is effective but difficult to use because, with the p Dalier ddi Black Box, there is no off position.
The rhythm part ... I do not use that as mtronome amlior Manir dtourne therefore, I do not will note.
As for the game audionumrique / registration (via USB), according handy, I had enough of t tests rcents when I found the muddy j'voquais ct dj, but this time on all my records a little bit high gain, regardless of the simulation. I'll add one final point is that the Black Box offers sound reproduction too similar regardless of the guitar used. I use it with an Ibanez RG 370 and an ESP Eclipse with EMG, the sound is not as final as it can be DIFFERENT on a "real" amp.
EDIT (11/02/2007): APRS the unfortunate deletion of one of my presets, I changed my approach: Instead of setting the Black Box with a lot of gain and keep me a great deal with the volume of my guitar for more gain, I put this volume down to 2/3-3/4, and I gain a bit of Black Boc. The presets sound much better and I finally preset INTERESTED Mesa, a preset a little amlior JCM 800 Bogner presets with more potatoes. I would have been 8.5, but we can not ...
OVERALL OPINION
I use it now for a year, mostly in simulation to the headphone, Because apartment living abroad + the + need for mobility.
MODEL bought "blind", at least not test before, just a Behringer V-AMP, which had not left a imprissable. The ending for Black Box will be in competition with a Pocket Pod, which I plutt bluff APRS a quick test.
If the quality-price ratio plutt good, especially having had the pdalier on the cheap with the Black Box, I'm not sure to buy one, spend the size prfrant sup SUPERIORCOURT prampli + simulation with HP.
