UTILIZATION

- Handle and flat end, we made it well with the 7 th chords!

- Jumbo fret c is not necessary, of medium have been tip top

- Acute, no worries its place as a true vai what!

- Tremolo blocked with a back up, it will change the whole result gives for the sound

SOUNDS

- Yes, I who love progressive rock and shred yes, nikel

- Sound, well I'm not sure because the previous owner modified it in the MSM and blazes in place of n v7 but I have no bills ....

- I find the clean sound very muffled and a little dull, as if moved from one micro to another does not change almost, I do not know, I have not proof that they are not yes been changed.

- It works in distortion rather pretty, clean it with something else .....

I play 99% of the pc with only ReValver mk3 & RiffWorks on the 6505 + and it works VERY VERY hard to hit the test come on my peavey all tube in the studio

- I understand too, the distortion in the handle gives the impression that the tone is "lock" on zero, instead of a hollowed block as the have done a good paf pro ....

OVERALL OPINION

- I for 1 month

- J had a predator prevaey 5 years ago, I prefer the comfort of handle (medium fret)

- I've tested the uv 777pbk, it's not that the 7420 away, provides all the bending of even one other comfort when climbing ranges, the back of the uv777 less varnish, and c is a comfort that reminds the peavey evh, and ca missing when the same row ..... it's almost as if you did not have the leather in the car.

the maker is frankly very good quality components and also, I close my eyes always on the made in japan since it's a bit my 5 th (after my esp m2 deluxe, my ibanez jpm p3, my jem 7vdy, rg 550dy)

- So think I will ever be the same choice, because UV 777 is very frankly (not to say too much) to expensive it is, a luthier in turn to have substantially the same "feature" is more profitable and the single ca go somewhere! as having found in modified MSM (which is also me more because I prefer MSM) only the color "black galaxy" or "black pearl" (a black sequined) or I'm not very fan alas.

well for my 16th bday i got some cash and put it towards a new guitar... the ibanez rg7420. this is the same model as dino cazarez uses from fear factory, and head and munky of korn. it really is an amazing guitar. i had only played 6 strings, so at first the wider neck was a lil akward, that changed quick though with practice. the pickups are powerful, neck is really slim, body is pretty light, and the black pearl finish is really sweet. i got it for 600 (new) with the uv1000 case at a local shop, alto music in middletown, ny. www.altomusic.com

the neck is slim and fast making the transition from a 6 to 7 real easy.

the ONLY thing i dont like is the bridge. its a licenced floyd rose. when changing strings, you have to cut off the ball on the string and secure the string by a lil block in the bridge. strings can come out if you dont tighten it enough, but you dont want to strip the screw. you just have to bea real causcious, and have more time to fool with it.

the body is made of basswood, so its pretty light and its real nice to hold. its real sturdy and makes you feel powerful.

I bought the Ibanez rg-7420 7 string guitar from Allan’s Music Melbourne, but had it sent from Adelaide. The Price of the guitar was originally $1599 but I got it at a price of $1199, I bought the guitar because a 6 string wasn’t enough, being in a band that plays Metallica covers but also our own brand of Metal that cannot be replicated on a six string.

The Ibanez 7-string is a beast of a guitar, It was surprisingly easy to change over from a six string to a seven string, It's Black Pearl (metallic) colour looks awesome in the light and doesn’t attract finger prints like a solid black colour does, Its Floyd Rose Tremolo setup is perfect for a low profile bridge, The tuning I use is standard six string tuning but instead of having the low string as (B) I have it tuned to an (A) leaving the fine tuner for the low (A) almost unwound so if needed I can tune it back to (B) by just winding it back up again. The thin wizard style neck makes for smooth playability and comfort and looks cool with the two different kinds of wood at the back. I use a (D.O.D) Death Metal Distortion Pedal, Boss digital delay pedal and a Dime Bag C.F.H along with a GA-100 Ashton Amp and Quad Box and this guitar sounds absolutely "MASSIVE".
I also like the fact that “Dino” from Fear Factory, and both “Munkey” and “Head” from Korn have used this guitar in past recordings.


The V7 and V8 Pickups are great pickups for the Ibanez 7-string but I may have to replace them with the Di-Marzio evolution 7 pickups, this is not a necessity just a personal preference.

The quality of the rg7420 is immaculate and a top class guitar for the price, but there are just two things that demean this product and that is its input connection and also a faulty volume control. It has a newer style of input being that it has a weaker spring that holds the lead in, thus making the lead fall out continuously, so I modified it by replacing the old connection with a Mic input connection. With the volume control, it tends to crackle through the amp when it's turned on low but Im sure these are rare problems going by the quality of Ibanez products.

This guitar I would recommend to any one who likes detuned guitars but still likes playing old riffs such as the likes of Metallica, Pantera, ACDC, etc. because there is no need for tuning your guitar down and getting a lesser sound quality. This guitar suits any genre of music really, from the likes of Metal musicians to jazz and funk etc.; the rg7420 covers a wide range of music and is the perfect guitar for anyone.

Made in Japan, 24 frets, finish rather simplistic but it's mouth
this guitar is equipped with a floyd, which is very much the tuning, I did the almost never connects and although it is a 7-string, the floyd is flexible trs.
1 volume and a tone that is quite effective but I do not ever used.
Ibanez V77 two microphones (for 7 of V7 chords what) that are capable of big sound as beautiful clear sound, a 5 way switch that allows the splitter singles in various combinations (there must be an explanation of the site ibanez)
Channel wizard wizard or two I do not know ...

UTILIZATION

It took me nine and I would have been 9.5
The handle is flat trs under the thumb and it's clear why I chose this guitar, access to the treble is very ais until the 22nd case (of 24 but good after I do not know if it is the vocation of this guitar). Ergonomics are good trs, finally it is a RG which, as well lgre.
And finally to the sound, the bah five selector positions allow a great flexibility.

SOUNDS

I just have changed his style of music, I always get the sound I want (to know now BIG) but it is not an esp with active pickups. If not for clean sounds, using the neck pickup sound j'obtient trs net yet using a Marshall VS 100.
By the way I put the gain back its saturated.

OVERALL OPINION

I have 4 years now and if I had more money, I would keep her only default now for me is that I need only 6 strings.
I tried also in Jackson and ESP 7 string, but playing comfort level => Ibanez J4ai chosen!
Finally I would do this choice if I wanted a 7 string, in 4 years I find it still going strong.

UTILIZATION

Regarding the race I must admit it is enjoyable despite trs widest I had the 7 string. You get used fairly quickly so instinstive. Access in Augus causes no problem until the 22me box. Good rogomie the limit of the massive guitar, as the weight limit of the heavy guitar but the handling is impeccable. Ct's trs I met, I have the essay with my ska band and my metal band and I am my finds.

SOUNDS

I play ska and mtal in both styles have j t satisfied, but I have found the most appropriate in spite of its great mtal ployvalence. I play with a multi-effects Digitech Genesis 3 and a marshall 8080 and everything is going well. In disto I get the big sound and bold look prcis both the 7 string I added a sound bleak ct. In the light I use the neck pickup to sound warm and micro acute for crystal clear sound. Sometimes lacks a little depth ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 years and I have not finished a tour of its capacity. I blocked the bridge and remove the rotting vibrato precision of the agreements. Relative level / quality is honest prices seen all that you can make! I must admit that I have not tried other models of 7-string, one thing is for sure is that with hindsight I would not have chosen the model with floyd ...

UTILIZATION

- The handle is comfortable to play with his flat profile without being either a model of comfort. The jumbo frets are not precise enough and comfortable enough in my view.

- The sound is good: Solid, heavy but very strangely muted (may be due to poor quality microphones). one might think that the big purpose of the instrument is saturated, but it becomes clear sound you get much more versatile than what was expected: for example the position 2 (bridge pickup split) provides a sound Clearly very interresting.

OVERALL OPINION

- Since 2001.
- I like the look: without being aggressive, he imposes.
- The sound is too dull
