All user reviews for the Image Line FL Studio 10 Producer Edition

FL Studio 10 has made some major improvements from previous versions of it. When you purchase producer edition you will not be getting everything you can get with an XXL version. I do suggest getting the XXL version of producer edition because you will get more valuable plug-ins and the price difference is not that bad. I do use a few different sequencing programs, but FL Studio is always like home. I have been working with it for about 10 years and I am so familiar with all of its functions. They keep a lot of the stuff with it the same from version to version so you will not have to worry about relearning anything.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

FL Studio 10 producers’ edition comes with Sytrus, Maximus, Hardcore, and DirectWave. I do use Sytrus a lot so it was great to see that they have included it but I already had it from a previous version and nothing has changed about it. I would have been great if they would have given Sytrus a facelift, I feel like it has been exactly the same since FL Studio 7 or 8.

OVERALL OPINION

The great thing about Fl Studio is that you can run it on just about any system you have. I have used this program on about 7 different computers over the years and nothing has ever not worked. My favorite thing about FL Studio 10 is the MIDI piano roll and the mixer track. The piano roll has been the same forever and not too much has changed with it. But the mixer track has been given a facelift from what it used to look like. Basically all of functions are still the same it just looks a little different now and that is a good thing. Another great thing about FL Studio 10 is it has great capabilities to work with external software synths and just about anything can work in it and vice versa; FL Studio can be used via ReWire to work with other programs. FL Studio is just so versatile and it has been working for me for a long time, I will never leave it.

The manual is clear and sufficient? Close to 1000 pages, but in English it says the video tutorials on the net are legion.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

2700K/8Go of ram and ssd so unless you have a Hollywood project with 100 trails, 400 effects this config is ample.

What is so special that you love the most, least?

As:
The piano roll as it is with him that I made (vst, 3x osc, etc.), it is really easy to take charge in addition to being provided with accurate and useful functions.

Playlist very flexible, easy automation to implement, mix it with its plug-ins such as soundgoodizer to get a more punchy bass eq or parametric efficient and more pleasant to use many other plug-ins all as useful as each other.

The least?
This sequencer is for the electro so if we try to save a group of musicians forget about FL Studio even if you register an instrument is far from ideal.

Did you tried many other models before buying it?
I own Ableton Live 8 that I use for 3 years which is also a very good sequencer except for the composition with the piano roll which led me to buy FL Studio.

There are other sequencers I tried a demo version but they do not fit my needs.

How would you rate the quality / price? Excellent when you consider the free updates for life!

With experience, you do again this choice? Not really disappointed with the capabilities of the sequencer, it is far more powerful than we imagine!

I find no need for my little miux to do with other recent sequencer (sonar studio and one live the famous pro tools a try)

Fl Studio has been around for over 10 years it's a really simple program to use comes with plenty of demo songs (to learn from) easy to follow/read manual and as i always say what you don't learn or understand supplied in the manual can be found online via youtube.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The application is pre configured automatically reads your sound card(which is something I like). I would suggest using ASIO soundcard drivers for best possible results (latency as well as audio quality). I found the pre config to be very stable which is important I don't think anyone wants to work with a piece of software that isn't stable. You risk losing projects and all kinds of other nonsense.

I can't really gauge the performance as it's going to be different for everyone as some people use a lot of plugins and others don't. I've been using Fl studio non exclusively for about 5 years.

OVERALL OPINION

Now for the nitty gritty on this application... Please understand I'm speaking from a producers/consumer point of view

What I hate about this application is it's pointless unless you have the money to purchase plugins to use a long with it. Without plugins which are containers for more sounds as well as mixing tools your music production will be severely limited.

Fl Studio comes with a couple of good plugins but those will only hold you interest for a little while. 90% of the stock sounds supplied with Fl studio aren't worth Sh@#t (sorry just being completely honest with you) This application ranges from $50-299.00 with an additional version that is bundled with all of these vst plugins that cost around 1000.00..

I will be completely honest with you if i purchased the $299.00 version I’d be very upset knowing that I'd still have to purchase additional applications aka vst plugins to get the most out of the software..

there are a lot of companies out there that supply great plugins:

Native Instruments
Arturia
IK Multimedia

Those are just a few companies (Native Instruments makes great ones)

I'd also be very upset spending the $1,000 on Image lines plugins on to find out later on that there are other companies that supply higher quality plugins at a much cheaper price.

last on the dislike list is once you do have all these plugins installed and you begin to run some you will find out that your system will begin to slow down (granted it's going to happen because memory is being used) when it doesn't have to.

What I do love about FL Studio is that it's pretty simple to use..so anyone can pick it up and start creating great sounding music. i love the fact that it does allow you to use plugins I just wish it had more internal options that would allow you to expand on the software with out spending extra $$

Before working with FL Studio I had put my hands on applications such as

Ableton Live

I've used quite a few different applications I of all Fl was probably the easiest (not the most conventional but definitely the easiest to use and it they give you free UPDATES FOR LIFE (they do a lot of updating)

With my sound card, but it is the card, and a reboot is forgotten.

It is a software computer music is never "easy", you must look for tutorials, it's safer, but overall everything is very logical.

Asus laptop of good quality, Proc 2GHz, 4GB of RAM, windows 7, map MOTU UltraLite MK3 Hybrid, a BCR2000, MPD26 Akai 1, and a USB keyboard controller.

Absolutely, it would be more difficult without the card, however, it is better to have a valid one.

Very good.

Very stable yes.

Most: simplicity, the potential near-inifinite loop, either in terms of components, editing sounds, control the various parameters (3 controllers plugged in and not move it), VST integration transparent, sound quality, stability, free updates for life, etc etc ...

Cons: the recording is very poorly thought out, with a large latency, hardware management hardware that is criminal in my opinion this type of software ...

Octamed Amiga for years, Cubase few days, and some other trends that were at the time.

Excellent, almost € 500 for the full version (the one with all plug-ins) for software of this quality is present.

Without hesitating a second.
