« Kit heterogeneous ... »
Published on 01/24/11 at 02:42How long do you use?
I received it last week.
What thing do you like most/least about it?
Pros:
1. areas of stunning strikes the cymbals (the bell of the ride is a bit small), the rim-shots on all the drums is a plus over the competition.
2. The look: we do not care but she throws.
3. The rack is solid and practical. Simply tighten the middle screw clamps to hold together. Is tightened when the position is good. In addition, small clips provided for cable manager is very helpful. There are struts on each appendage. The only downside is the manual and the fact that the elements are not necessarily placed in the right place on bars (depending on your installation so you have to think (pff, it's hard ...) before add this or that element ...).
4. The module is really good. The sounds are good and dynamic. The choice is big enough. This bear still other pads for the future. USB. The many parameters (that is a plus and a minus because it is a bit complex).
Cons:
1. The drums are not very good (especially the kick). These are the same as the home pack MPS300 Millennium. They are very hard (hello wrists) and are very selective about their strike zone. It has nothing to do with the Mesh Head to Roland and it's harder than Rubber Pads from Yamaha. I am a little disappointed the above. I think I'll switch to the Mesh Head and Triggers Roland cone so very rapido ...
2. There are adjustments to make for not having a ghost notes and double trigger (some notes are not played and some are played in duplicate with the sound (in lower) to a pad near). All this is set on the module but I liked the setup is more or less already done ...
3. HiHat pedal is a bit harsh ... I think it's time to do (and do it) ...
Did you try many other models before getting this one?
I had before, the following models: Yamaha DTXpress (1 and 3), 6 Roland TMC with Mesh Head Pad, a SPD-S Roland and Alesis Control Pad. In comparison, I would say that the kit from Alesis DM10 is very good on the cymbals, rack and module but it is a little low on drums. It thus gives a rather heterogeneous ...
How do you rate the quality / price?
It's still good and the ratio Q / P is almost invincible against kits Roland or Yamaha ... After, we must start in the DIY ...
With experience, this choice would you do? ...
Obviously ...
I will file a notice in a few months ... to say whether I made the drums or not ...
