Good beginner instrument.
Good collection of MIDI controls physical cheaply to others.

I originally bought for my son, age 11, guitarist 3rd year 2nd cycle Conservatory in September he must make a second instrument, he chose drums. Paris, apartment, he needed something quiet, correct, but cheap (beginner, 2nd instrument ...).
When I realized the possibilities it offers for that price I bought a second for me

To:
- Price (in addition to 199 in November Promo Kit € + stool / chopsticks / semi-open headphones of good quality at 40 €, very good thing ...). Unbeatable!
- Sound: Correct (on the headphones as the speakers) in acoustic reproduction of a kind, Jazz, Rock, Metal, by electro cons out of the 80's in all sucks, it is not a good old TR909. Patches Asian and Brasil can play with exotic percussion, nice ... Logical patch / sub-patch that allows you to choose a style and then decline cymbals or toms in several configurations (p / e cym line that passes crash to ride).
- Emcombrement: Quite small, it happens in a child's room of 11m2 despite the bed, desk, shelves, boxes of toys, etc. ... He is even room in the middle to play
- Connectivity: Headphone and speakers (unamplified, line output) separated. Just do not turn the speakers, everything is connected. MIDI OUT to play with other sounds or record on PC / sequencer. IN for recording audio tracks on SD card (not included) and work (loops, metronome) or play in sync to MP3.
- Other: Each pad / cym / pedal has its own entry on the electronic module (J3.5M for pads / pedals for J3.5S cym) MIDI controller with dedicated for each (see doc). So physical MIDI Controllers 11 to 200 €!!
In detail:
Pedals: Kick, HH (close)
Pad: Sn, HH, T1, T2, T3
Cym: L, R
Close Cym: L, R

Cons:
- The pedals (kick / HH) are too small. Keeping the material it would have been cool to the ballast, even on carpet they move. In addition to press and let go "frankly" to the difference between open and closed HH. Forget the fine on this model. You really have to play Kick the "tip off" to type finely.
- Sound: cym are too attenuated. We must strike hard at whether the noise level of the toms, kick and CC.
- Fixings: All plastic (except the screws), all of the allen wrench, to tighten it hard to budge if you type "lumberjack."
- The HH is not a pad but Cym.
- Low velocity levels on the sensors. Piano, Med, High, little nuances.
- No USB, just MIDI Out (DIN5).
- For the "choke" should be strong enough or pinch your fingers to really rule out that it works. It's annoying especially as the strike zone and seizure is limited, an incentive to slap on the wrist ... And with children's hands it does not work very well.
- No difference in body / bell on Cyms (choice of putting a sensor below ...)
- All fittings and rods plastic pads: Do not be a "lumberjack" otherwise 15 ° on each pad between the beginning and the end of the song.

Conclusion:

- It is a useful instrument for a beginner.
- A set of sensors low-coast music.

After a Roland drum covered with real skins stretched practiced for several hours, I tried at the Milonga Drumtech ED03 announced 199euros and 2 year guarantee. Before asking headphones and sticks, I verified that the pads were connected to the expander by entries séoarées (mini-jacks 3.5 here) and there was an output sequencer (midi here).
My rating:
The sounds included are pretty small but the acoustic kind.
Few blows to the headphone.
Disagreeable and not hit more solid than rubber pads skins that frequent low-grade tear rapidly.
Too light to support the loggers but tinkering and transportable.
Separate connection for each tom can thus replacing chgt snare ...
Pedals casual contact but not so easy living.
That is, nothing to get up at night but the price outweighs the membership, right?
