Card with 4 among analog.
I plan to record my trio!

I will use it with 2 condenser microphones (drums) + 1 microphone in between 3 (kick) + electric bass in between 4 + keyboard mp8 spdif in.

USE

No problems everything is OK
except that I can not argler outputs 5-6 (I opened a post if you have the answer, thank you)

IMPLEMENTATION

Logic everything is nikel.
I even made a decision with a sm58 and Pramp is sufficient for this application (c'tait impossible with a firebox)

NOTICE GLOBAL

In fact, this map is quite mconnue, I really hesitated I took the first firebox that I made after 2 days.
This card should everything me, I'm really happy, that's exactly what I was looking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought it on the advice of a sound technician and what motivated me was the price and the prestige of the brand.
I use it for Home Studio recording. I use a console Phonic Powerpods II in 1860, M-Audio preamp DMP3

UTILIZATION

The installation of this easier, fireware connected to my pc.
I did not follow the manual. I use Cubase SX3. Has 8 tracks but I have not tested together.

GETTING STARTED

The gain is high, the voices and instruments are preamplified, no breath, imperceptible latency.
The console panel is not very clear.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 years for trying to have a Prodipe and M-Audio. What I like most quality, pure sound, gain, and the look and the least that the console panel that is not very clear.
With the experience I would do without hesitation that choice.

I hesitated between this product and PRESONUS FIREBOX of (which I heard only good things). I take the time to write this review because I was really impressed with the Saffire LE. PC configuration, Windows XP ... I had the chance to compare both products extensively and is a huge difference between the two.

No problem. Not really a man but a little hasty expicatif DVD but not really necessary anyway.

OVERALL OPINION

As I mentioned, I was able to compare the product with the FIREBOX and converters as well as the preamps are nettememt higher on the Saffire LE (and I'm very picky about it, a little zealous same. I also presume to say that I have good ears). But here, on a good frame of reference, even my grandmother would hear the difference. I do not really see how we can do better in this product category. The sound quality is amazing, very accurate, with virtually no background noise (much less than the FIREBOX), it's really amazing. The preamps are also stronger here (more gain). I hesitated a long time because I found not many reviews for this product. Even if the seller tells you that the Saffire LE FIREBOX and are equivalent in performance (that's what mine told) do not particularly think! Do you even compare (a real serious test) and you will not regret it. I hope I have helped someone with this opinion.

I use it with a desktop PC (amd athlon 3000 +, 1G0 ram) and monitoring the TAPCO S5 and Sony MDR 7506.

UTILIZATION

- Perfect fit! (It's so quick and hassle free we feel that there is one!)
- No incompatibility with Win XP (pro sp1)

GETTING STARTED

- 1.2 stable drivers (o ca change signs they are still not stable 3.x version!)
- IS STABLE!
- Utilissrgulirement software: Cubase - Reaktor - Reason (+ other VSTi and VST)
- Latency around 10ms (not felt)
- I did read the 10 tracks, no worries (recording a one)

OVERALL OPINION

- I utlise for about a month (only)
- The +: NOTHING IS fault, this interface is perfect: great work!
- The -: t have a manual handwritten welcome, but ...
- I keep abreast of new products daily audio interface and this is undoubtedly the best in this price range (and products)
- I do it again this election, yes!

OVERALL OPINION

For starters, do not buy the firewire card without the test if you have a laptop. I myself wanted to run the Saffire LE on my Tosh P100 and I can not use that outlet because I paid for clicks coming ... As against it works beautifully and without annoying lag on a pc fixed the same age (1.2GHz AMD and 256 ram !!)...
After some compatibility issues resolved, so here I am in possession of an excellent tool for a first sound card.
I am satisfied with the 4 analog inputs, mainly because of my budget to save for a baterie I group multiple microphones to the inputs 3 and 4 ...
However, taken for guitar / voice duo is even very comfortable.
The preamps seem good even if I did than my Mackie to compare ...
The multitrack recording works great in Cubase and MIDI input / output are handy for home recording.
The software provided (Saffire Control) is much better than the Firebox allows you to mix and independently returns headphones and mix tracks in six out ...
I would add that it is very beautiful, compact, and it does not heat unlike the firebox ...
Finally, I am delighted with my purchase and highly recommend in this price range.

edit: A few years later, the Saffire LE is still there and works perfectly. I do not use more than troubleshooting because I remplée by larger cards. Its price has come down significantly, making it a formidable card at low cost.

UTILIZATION

No installation problem except that the flash firmware that is running Mac, not on pc it seems.
qques instability in OS X. parcontre used but without PSU. Pc in any instability. Problem meeting:
the sleep of the computer (step drop the card does not work. When you turn a SERIES of three bonding and relays and pnibles
large pets in the forums! The configuration of the console is not empty because the rglage buffer is not accessible from the control console! The file is located as the default configuration file! It is located in application data to users of bootcamp.
The manual is not enough at all.

prampli good, the gain is lev instruments are pramplifi and phantom power supply is trs trs discrte, no breath.
The console panel is searched and no clear trs, no mute no solo. The peak that reaches the full scale 0dB makes meters saw red in their entire length and this for several seconds!! not pro at all! If introduced the XLR jack is no longer oprationnel! Output 3 / 4 insparable the headphones! More click to dmarage, 3 total pnible if we restart, it must then lower the master volume on the map!.
By no bug against the currently trs enjoyable.
The case is lightweight but rugged cot scary.
It can be there too the winning entry and exit. I did some test with a Delta 1010 M Audio. As a masters clipper heels make the entries. Incovnient almost a major.

The report qp is rather excellent.
The plugins are not recognized in my soft, they are really pokey, they are almost piti! they must be re-launched the process of day for plugins to appear in the list of available VST! So I do not use them.

I do it again this choice because the sound is all the same.

are very easy when a user is accustomed with computers so

Personally I have this card Aquis nine Canadian $ 300 so about 211 Euros. with local taxes.

well yes .. it is a good buy.

Only downside is the PC compatibility at me I have no firewire problem but many people have had some incompatibility with some laptop or other ... but my overall rating by a good 9.5/10 I am very happy with this purchase location!
