Ableton has opted for a full installation on each bet to date. That means the previous version and the bet is two days to install independently. Installation impeccable and faultless.

Ableton running smoothly with my projects (8-10 Hypersonic MIDI tracks with audio tracks 8-10 with about 3-5 plug-in) resource consumption 50% on average. If I add GuitarRig with 10ms faster it goes to 70-80%.
But I am satisfied with the quality / price ratio of my stuff.
Unless some bug in guitarRig2 absolutely no stability problem.
I have a dedicated computer.

I use Live for 3 years and my version 6 for a week.
The multi-threading, which provides a speed boost. Project management, the améloirations graphics, function keys ...
I immediately flasche for Live because it offers me the opportunity to make music live and work in an intuitive and flexible. The section is very comprehensive DAW and has nothing to envy, which is for the use that I actually have Cubase or another.
Live is a software designed to play music intuitively and ultra flexible DAW are other tools to record music, of course, more sophisticated than a magneto, but a linear and straight, like ribbons.
I have my 14 year old son makes up bases rap for him and his mates without much worry about the highly technical aspects of CAD, for his greatest joy and in no time.
