Bremmers Audio Design has released a major update to its MultiTrack DAW, which is now in version 8.
The first novelty, is that both editions of MultiTrack 8 have been renamed: the Pro Plus version is now Pro only and the Professional edition goes Standard.
Changes in MultiTrack v8:
- Added a multiband compressor to the Pro version
- Guitar amp simulation in the Standard version
- Ability to open 32 and 64-bit files in the Standard edition (but no multitrack editor)
- Improved sound in most of the virtual instrument and added MIDI control features such as soft pedal for the acoustic pianos, legato for the bowed and wind instruments, new filter and resonances controls in the synths, added levels for the different Drums elements
- Added Swing options to the MIDI editors for quantize
- « Draw » mode added to the note velocity editor
- Ability to adjust imported MIDI files to the project tempo
- Practice mode accessible via double click on the track Play button
- Copy imported audio and MIDI files to the song folder
- The Audio/MIDI import feature remembers the folder
- New songs automatically include a reverb effect in the first effect return section
- Import/export presets
- Mixdown on Mac to .m4a format
- The lower limit in the tempo editor is now 8 BPM
- Various improvements and fixes
This new version of MultiTrack is free if you purchased version 7 after October 28th, 2013. Users of older versions can purchase an upgrade for $39 (Pro edition) or $23 (Standard edition). New licenses cost $69 (Standard edition) and $119 (Pro version). A free Lite version is still available for download from www.multitrackstudio.com.
