I bought this software at the local CompUSA. I believe I paid around $49 for it.

The included program Slowblast is worth the cost of the program alone. Slows down music without changing the pitch. Great for working out guitar licks and songs.


You really need a fast hard drive to use this software. I kept getting skipping when I was recording. My computer is a 500 MHz unit with 27 gig of hard drive space. The tech support told me that my IDE drives were not fast enough. You need a hard drive with at LEAST a 300 MB/Second transfer rate (according to the manufacturer). If you don't have that then don't buy the program. Other than that problem, the interface and everything else was good.I did not get my moneys worth as the recorder was beyond my systems performance. My system is equivalent to a 500 MHz Pent III. The system requirements should tell you about the hard drive speed requirements.

If you have a fast hard drive on your system then this program should work great. The
sound quality was excellent and the package easy to use....BUT ...you need that fast
hard drive.

Personally, I find that the software is CWGT ideal for beginners who do not wish to use for MIDI. This software is only audio and east Submitted a simple, friendly and ergonomic.
Ultra easy installation (12 MB installation file) and it runs a test on your setup ds booting. I have no manual, and I think I managed to understand all the functions of the BTE.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Little greedy in memory as long as you do not stack the effects (reverb etc ...) CWGT does not require a big config to work correctly (athlon 1.4 will do for example see duron 1gigahertz)
I happened to have some problems locking qd it is consuming the CPU.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 years and I is not found a program that is oriented only "audio" has the one hand. (But I'm an amateur, there must surely be
CWGT is however very limited because the maximum six runs. this amne parfoit rflchir on the organization of pieces and want a 7th or 8th track composed in the most dense.
Basically, if you want to Get You Started and do a little bit studio recording acoustic instruments and voices ... CWGT is the software you need.
But do not ask him too ...

Cakewalk Guitar Tracks was the first digital sequencer I got about nine years ago. I got it because it was real cheap and I was just looking to see what recording was all about. I used it on PC and didn't have any compatibility problems with my machine. It was easy to install and is pretty straightforward overall. I don't have a manual so I'm not sure how well it is constructed.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I used this before I got my current recording rig, and was running it on an old Dell desktop PC. Since I was doing the bare bones with this software and using it just to get my feet wet with recording, it worked fine and I never really had any problems running this well. I was able to run a few tracks at once with effects on each.

OVERALL OPINION

I got Cakewalk Guitar Tracks about nine years ago and have since stopped using it because I have upgraded. For the time, this worked fine for me to record a few tracks and use some effects for my guitar, but looking back there are a lot of sequencers out there that are better, including Pro Tools, Cubase & Logic. The price of this was what drove me to buy it as it is dirt cheap. The guitar effects are okay, but definitley not all that professional sounding and not all that realistic. It is fine for demoing, but I would never use this on a real project as it simply doesn't have enough tracks or power to produce a real professional mix. Even being as cheap as it is, these days you can get a much more powerful sequencer than this for an incredibly cheap price. All in all, I probably wouldn't recommend this software because even though it does what is claims, there are other sequencers more powerful for a cheap price.
