- The installation is done it without problems?
No worries, and updates are installed on demand, when you start the application. Easy ...
A little more than that, personal, it's great: you can install the program on a USB key (or other storage medium), so our little virtual studio with us everywhere.
- Have you experienced any incompatibilities?
No, no.
- The general configuration is easy?
It depends ... As such, it is not complex to jump start recording / playback. But the tool is very complete, everything is customizable, which may make it complicated if you want to leave the basic settings. No doubt the complexity also comes from a background of several years of Cubase, the parameters are more or less the same, but how to configure them is a little different. We must also recognize that, until now, all my questions were answered in the manual.
- The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
Yes, great.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

- What is the configuration of your computer? (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Disk / sound card ..)
see my profile
- The software works he correctly on this configuration?
Yes, it runs without worry, and it seems that the use of CPU resources is more efficient than Cubase. Cubase, my PC was struggling to run a Pianoteq BFD2 + + + Yellow Tools Majestic else in audio (from 1 to 4 tracks guitars, or vocals, effects). The same pieces in Reaper, I take a look at the performance, and he still room (a lot of room, even).
- What performance? (If quantifiable)
Quite good, even excellent. My experience was limited to Cubase, so I can not speak over other software. Reaper meets my expectations, and returns the Steinberg developers to their current programming.
- This software + hardware is stable?
Generally, yes. However, I have a crash from time to time, especially when I want to move from a project "Heavy" (with VST instruments on several tracks) to another. Maybe it's me, but I can not find the proper way to close a project, keeping Reaper open, to open another window in a vacuum.

OVERALL OPINION

- How long have you use it?
It'll be a few months. I was convinced by the demo, I tried a little over a month without any loss of functionality (kudos to Cockos for this approach).
- What is so special that you like most and least?
+ Everything is configurable
+ Class performances
+ Quick start (a few seconds to be operational)
+ Quality effects
+ Routing
- The look of the basic version (the tastes and colors), but you can change everything
- Having to relearn a new software, and get rid of habits Cubase ...
- Have you tried many other models before buying it?
All Steinberg
- How would you rate the quality / price?
Although the demo version is usable with no time limit, I thought that such a development should be rewarded. 50USD for a noncommercial license, and for such a product, I have not met anyone to complain about trade policy Cockos ... value / price ratio.
- With experience, you do again this choice? ...
Yes. I particularly regret not having tried it before.
