Advice for a Mac Man
Hi

I am using sibelius 4 on a Mac powerbook G4 with a 1.5ghz processor and 1.5G RAM, a firewire ExHD and a MOTU 896HD external interface.

I am new to working with MIDI and Sibelius

I want to write music for large ensembles (film orchestra/big bands etc). What is the best way to get decent sounds working with large ensembles in Sibelius with the set up I have? I have GPO, which is great with small groups and I can freeze tracks in Logic etc, so it has its uses, but I just don't have the processing power to run this type of software for large ensembles in Sibelius. Would it be best to get an external sound module? Which? I don't know anything about sound modules. Also, I am poor. So very poor.

So basically my question is; on the set up I have, what would be the best way to hear large ensembles that sound nice and reasonably in Sibelius. Please take pitty on this MIDI virgin idiot and help??
