Need to know the proper hookup configuration for a Yamaha souns system.
The head is a EMX512SC powered mixer. We have 2 15 yamaha speakers and one 15 floor monitor and want to use one omni microphone (MXL 990).
Everytime we hookup according to the book volume cannot be increased on the gain no more than 2 1/2 before it starts to hum. The omni mic is behind the speakers not in front. We want to check cable placement and make sure everything is done correctly. The group that uses this system is bluegrass gospel. The idea of the omni mic is something that we really want to use, but really need to get something out of the monitor without a hum.
